Recently found an old project of mine which I had made a couple of months back on my Windows PC, when I tried to open it on my MAC today a message popped-up saying "Failed to load window layout", "This can happen if layout contains custom windows and there are compile errors in the project.".

Searched around a bit and found some people suggesting that I should leave this error like this and open a second Unity project to transfer all my assets and everything on this new project. I suppose this works on Windows only because when I try to open another instance of Unity from my MAC nothing happens.

Apparently when I delete the file CurrentLayout.dwlt Unity opens up but my scene is gone. Is there any easy solution to this and also should I somehow export the project from my Windows first so it can be properly edited on my MAC? Obviously I'm a beginner with Unity so any help is much appreciated.
