No Heroes - A realistic multiplayer FPS

    I'm running the game in my 4 years old laptop, with a Core 2 duo 2.53GHz, geforce 9700M GT and using a resolution of 1680x1050, with 90-120 FPS, so i believe the game runs on almost any computer.
    Of course we will increase the quality of the game and try to improve the graphics as far as we can, also adding many graphics options that can be turned off for better performance.

    I also decreased a bit the poly count of the weapon.

    That looks great, and your game is coming along nicely! I wish I had someone with your modeling skills!

    Well, not any computer. Laptops running GMAs probably will crash and burn. That's why I need a MacBook Pro.

    Well obviously not every computer, but the average computer out there will run it no problem.

    The average computer is better than mine, and i'm building the game in this average computer. Maybe in the future i'll get a better PC :)

    Maybe, Don't know.
    The texturing process takes more time than the modelling process.
    Maybe i'll make a video where i model, uv map and texture a weapon sight.

    Nah, I was just trying to say your game wouldn't be hard to run, but I hope you didn't take it as an insult... (Won't be a problem for me to run anything though, just got my new computer parts and I am waiting on my gtx 670 to come tommorrow, :) yay)

    I realize the game still doesn't have great graphics, but considering we are only using free software (Unity free, Blender, GIMP), i have to say that it's looking very good xD
    We are making a new map for the alpha multiplayer, it will have much more detail, much bigger map size and more varied.
    Hopefully we will get Unity Pro with the help of the donations (we are currently at 10% of what we need)

    Personally I actually like the graphics so far... In a couple vids the map seems a bit dark but other than that I honestly wish I had the skills in Blender and GIMP to do what you do. But thats what happens when you take scripting classes not art classes :)

    Hey guys

    Just wanted to show the results of both shotguns inside Unity, with the textures and animations done.
    I also made a new reloading system to reload the ammunition one by one and be able to stop the reload at any time.

    But.. What does top of the leader boards mean? Is that, like, an inside joke, or are you just a great gamer?

    Also, how do you make the textures? Modify them from photographs or what?

    Well I wish I was that good of a gamer, but it's more of just a funny saying that goes around. I like to think I live on a more concrete and stable location but I guess not. :)

    Well, I'm not him, but I usually find some really HD photos, make 2 other variants, with lower res, ofc, do color correction etc etc and I use them as that...
    I do it by collecting photos, but I believe he does it in GIMP.

    Hi.
    I use Gimp to make the textures of the weapons, i see photographs of the weapons to see how they look like but i don't use them in the actual textures.

    Then how do you make them? GIMP doesn't make textures, it only edited photographs. Unless there's some third party plugin I'm not hearing about.

    You can do a new file and it will have a brand new canvas for you.

    Gimp is photoshop. Just without all the bells and whistles.

    Yes, I know, I've used GIMP before. What I want to know is:

    BECAUSE GIMP LACKS GOOD PAINTING TOOLS, HOW DO YOU CREATE TEXTURES FOR GUNS, OR REALLY FOR ANY GAME OR GENERAL?

    New Update #26!

    Go check it out :



    Changes in this Update:
    - New Shotgun - Benelli M4,
    - New Shotgun - AA-12,
    - New shotgun mecanism,
    - Reload the amunition one by one and be able to stop the reload at any time,
    - New Reflex Sight,
    - Much improved zooming-in,
    - Much easier to add new attachments to weapons, requiring 50% less work,
    - New falling animation to prone position (just a prototype and will be changed),
    - Improved Flashlight and LaserPointer Effect,
    - New scope effect,
    - New animations for the M4A1 and G36C,
    - New parkour move, enables to jump over tall obstacles,
    - Many improvements and bug fixes.

    I just don't think the painting tools in GIMP are good enough to generate quality art without extensions. I mean, most of the GIMP panel is related to image editing:

    in some others previus videos, you made a video that shows the multiplayer system...
    CAN UOU MAKE A TUTORIAL OR SOMETHING TO THAT?! PLEASE!!!

    You lack the skills to use it properly that is the true answer.Go to polycount and see the work of some guys that use blender+gimp.

    Great work eskovas just your weapons need specular map to look better.

    nice but some of the textures aren't custom ..... you have some textures from cg..

    They have already stated they don't want to do tutorials at least not at the moment. Don't expect everything to be given to you. You could take a look at the Boot Camp Photon tutorial on the asset store. But you will never learn anything if it is given to you. Plus doing a tutorial on a whole FPS essentially, would take forever. They are game developers who are working hard to get paid making a game. You can't expect them to give it all away for free.

    Well it's not that easy to make tutorials, and we want to use that time in the game instead making something unrelated...
    We are considering doing specific tutorials like how to work with light and lightmaps, creating real projectile physics, that sort of thing, but nothing is decided yet.
    If we decide to do something like that we will announce it.

    Anyway, regarding the game:

    I'm improving the projectile physics, it's way more efficient and more realistic.
    I'm also working on the new soldier and the new skeleton for the body.
    You should expect some new updates soon :)

    Because of the videos I went and learned Blender. Much more easier to me than other 3D modeling programs, thanks :D

    Texture could use some work, looks like a very obvious cloud map. Its very matte and not looking like metal at the moment. With some work it can definitely get there.

    Hello everyone!

    Here's a little update:
    Next video Update won't take much longer and here are the changes for the next update:
    - Improved skeleton and hands;
    - New animations for all weapons;
    - New firing system;
    - New recoil system (bigger impact than previous recoil systems);
    - New Reflex sight (see the asset creation series)

    After this update, we will change our priorities regarding the game.
    We will focus almost exclusively on GAMEPLAY!
    We will make our in-depth parkour system and post video updates showing those changes.

    Hope you guys like our direction and keep Supporting!

    New Update #27



    Changes in this Update:
    - New reflex sight;
    - All new animations for every weapon;
    - New firing system;
    - New recoil system;
    - The more you fire, less acurate is the weapon. It all depends on the weapon's recoil and accuracy stats;
    - Improved and optimized bullet physics;
    - New and improved Zooming-in system
    - Many improvements and bug fixes.

    Hello Everyone!
    Here is a sneak peak at a new weapon in our game.
    This is the new method i'm are using to create assets, it will give much more quality and detail to the game.
    Note this is my very first attempt at High Poly modelling and the model is still WIP.
