DaikonForge Voice - Cross-platform VoIP Solution for Unity3D

A short while ago, I took down my own asset USpeak (among others) from the asset store due to scheduling constraints for my work with DaikonForge on their flagship product DFGUI (I simply could not provide support, and I feel it wrong to ask for money for a product I do not support)
Recently DaikonForge has been looking to expand their middleware offerings. Therefore, we've decided to release DFVoice under the DaikonForge name - a sort of spiritual successor to USpeak.
DFVoice has kept some similarities to USpeak, but is redesigned from the ground up to be more modular, more reliable, and more efficient.
DFVoice provides an easy-to-integrate solution for VoIP communication in your Unity3D game or app. With a few lines of glue code you can get DFVoice up and running with nearly any multiplayer solution on the market - if it can send byte arrays, you're good to go. It's also built on the battle-tested Speex codec for high-quality voice communication without sacrificing bandwidth.

We're currently looking to invite testers to a limited beta tester list. Once ready, the testers will gain access to an early preview of DFVoice for testing. We would be looking for feedback on usability, bugs, and more to help us get DFVoice as solid as possible prior to full release.
We'll be accepting 20 users for testing. If you would like to be a part of this list, please sign up on our forums and send a PM to "MasaakiHosoi" (click the mailbox icon, select Start a New Conversation, and enter "MasaakiHosoi" in the participants field without the quotes), with the subject "DFVoice Beta Access" and in the message outline the project you would like to evaluate DFVoice with.
If accepted, you'll be placed in the DFVoice Beta Tester user group and gain access to the DFVoice forum category where you can view announcements, post general questions, and report bugs.

There are no more slots remaining.
We are no longer accepting closed beta applicants.

    HOWEVER,

We will be submitting DFVoice to the asset store later today - version 1.0.rc1 (as of June 30, 2014).
After we submit DFVoice to the asset store we will be creating a new announcement thread. Stay tuned!

    EDIT:
DFVoice is now live on the asset store! Link here: https://www.assetstore.unity3d.com/en/#!/content/19344

Perhaps such a busy forum was the wrong place to post this?

Making a new account on a new forum is a lot of work. ;)

Sent in my application. Looks like the best VoIP solution for Unity.

Might as well chip in and help out. I bought DF, and would probably be slightly helpful in testing this out too. I was signed up to the old forum anyway - like the new look. Sent a conversation :)

One more tester. 9 slots remain.
We're well on track for the beta launch. Once all slots have been filled, we will launch the closed beta. If this does not happen by June 12, we will launch anyway (at this rate, however, we are likely to fill the slots before then)

Sigh I just had bought uSpeak. Am I still going to be able to use uSpeak? I wrote my own network layer and hadn't got around to integrating it with it yet so I guess ill beta this if there are spots left.

    Edit:

I just opened up the asset store and can no longer find uSpeak to import. So the asset I just paid for I can no longer use?

We've still got spots open. Won't be long now until the DFVoice beta launches (June 12 at the longest, sooner if we fill up the positions before then), so if you're comfortable waiting until then, I'd encourage you to use DFVoice instead.

To answer your question about USpeak, it is not coming back. This is, essentially, the replacement.

The good news is, early adopters will continue to receive updates even after Asset Store launch via the Resources section of our forums.

EDIT: There are now 8 slots remaining.

Just sent you a message on the forums. Haven't checked them in a while, but I like the new look. Much more functional too.

If DFVoice is the DFGUI of VoIP, then I should be pretty happy with it. I'm happy to give it a test.

Thanks. I'm pretty happy about the new structure of DFVoice. Similar in concept to USpeak, but much more modular and extensible.

After your application, we're down to 6 slots remaining.

Is there an option later to update from uspeak to dfvoice for a special price?
Can you please tell me wich version of uspeak (i have the tnet edition) is the latest and send me the latest if i do not have it after i send you the unity store invoice number?
Will uspeak still work with unity 4.x?

Sorry to ask some questions about uspeak.
I am also interested to test dfvoice.

    There is no upgrade option.
If you're willing to hold off on voice chat for a bit, you can apply for the DFVoice beta and use that instead of USpeak. The design of DFVoice is better in my opinion, and it's more robust than USpeak.

USpeak has worked with 4.x for a while. DFVoice works in 4.x, and is planned to work in Unity 5.x

We just purchased uSpeak a few weeks ago. It was distressing to see it go away, but now it's really annoying to see DFVoice coming along to replace it, with no cross/upgrade option. So we'll be stranded on Unity 4 unless we pay again?

I hope someone asks to get on beta after all the slots are filled. I'm not sure why, I guess I'm just twisted like that sometimes.

One more person before the closed beta launches!

Very shortly the package will be made available on our forums. Keep an eye on the Announcements forum in the DFVoice category.

A big thanks to everyone who applied.

    Hey Phobic,

I feel awful I missed the closed beta.. We just started working on our new project, which is an online co-op multiplayer on mobile devices. A big part of it would be the voice chat... and I am kicking myself for not starting like a week ago. Is it any way possible to get me in? I feel like an idiot! but please, I could contribute a good deal of testing as we are on full roll on this project and I am the sole developer. Looking forward to hear from you! :)

I'm thinking in the $30 - $40 range so far, probably per-seat license.

Hey Phobic, will the voip solution allow for a use case such as this?

Three gamers (one on ipad mini, one on android, one on mac) all in different locations talking at the same time. And the three of them hearing what everyone is saying combined through their devices' speakers/headphones. Just like a three-way phone call.

Hello, I am just curious if you have any idea when this will be up on the asset store? I would love to add it to a multiplayer project I am working on.
