    Hi all, quick fix
The audio sliders didnt used to be great, this was due to them being linear and them mixers being logarithmic
Its all sorted out now though, it converts the linear value to Db, so its all good now :D

    Hi all, quick little change
Audio sliders now convert from a linear scale to decibels to properly change the audio volume

This took a shamefully long time, but I've finally made new images for the asteroid entries
    I've also done the power up entries too ajcnwnckj.png grjir.png hrhh.png bduguebg.png sefje.png

Hey, mate! I'm hyped for some new updates, it's looking nice.
Have you added controller support? I got a xbox controller arriving in the mail in a week or so, it would be cool to test your game with that. :D

    Hey :)

Let's see what have i done since i last updated here

    Graphics settings
    Internal code rewrites
Achievement system (however right now there is only one extremely hard to achieve achievement)
    Self destruct!
probably some others but i cant remember xD

There used to be controller support, but then i completely screwed up the input manager and since then if you connect a controller you start spinning in circles, so that needs fixing

    Thanks for the enthusiasm :)
Always a motivation to work harder on it :D

    Self Destruct!
This ability, which will probably be known as detonate, is unlocked at Lv5
if you are level 5 or above and have a full boost gauge, you can blow yourself up in a spectacular explosion
Everything around you is destroyed without spawning minis, and you still get half the score for it
Good choice if you see an asteroid coming to you and you really dont have time to get out of the way

No problem! It's a cool project.
I'll pop back in when the controller has arrived, and it would be awesome to try it then.
Keep the good work up. I like the Self Destruct idea, it seems like a nice way to just
rack up a bunch of points before the ship explodes.

    Oooh nice ;)

Now for the challenge: attempt to add controller support without my own controller to test it
    this will be fun xD

Okay so it should technically support controllers now, but i have no idea if it does
    Controls
move with wasd, arrows or left control stick
shoot with space or right bumper
boost with left shift or left bumber
self destruct with e or Y

I gave a dev build to one of my friends, as it gives performance statistics at the end
they went a tad overboard with the debug hot keys though. Particularly the add score and spawn asteroids ones xD

Ha ha... when I gave my friend a build of a game, I forgot to turn of "dev" mode and they just kept wrecking me in a 1v1... poor me I had no idea how annoying the add hp button could be.

I did, and I totally forgot to post here after!

When I started the game, the ship just span in circles, sort of falling downwards while spinning. As far as I know, there's nothing I could do to fix it. I haven't had the chance to test the controller at other games yet, so it could also potentially be the controller... Although I certainly hope it's not!

My thoughts: Perfectly okay, but very... normal. I wouldn't complain about the title if I stumbled upon the game, but it wouldn't be very memorable either. That's just my opinion. :)

@Mothil, do you think you could try using the setup dialogue to see if rebinding the inputs to your control stick fixes it? just as a temporary solution

What is the setup dialogue? Some external software?
I provided a gif, by the way. here's how it works with my controller when I enter the game. :)

by the looks of it the x and y axis on the controller are mapping to -1 and -1 instead of 0 0 on default rest position
The setup dialogue is the thing that comes up when you launch it, may have to hold down alt

My controller mapped the speed booster (move forward) to joystick backwards, and the shooting to R trigger. I would prefer both those as buttons (A and X maybe) but that's just a small preference. Else I find it really good. :)

What OS are you on and what controller are you using? some have different bindings, I tried to set it up for Windows with Xbox controller
Have you tried rebinding them to your preferences?

Wow, that was a lot of warnings.
I recently renamed mine as well, and I could do it no problem... No warnings whatsoever. My code isn't fancy at all though, so I don't know if you have something fancy that...needs the name? No idea. :p

Ah right all those warnings are from particle systems
Basically there was an update that made a new particle system API and I haven't updated my code yet

Hello mate, wondered if you'd like a professional touch to your project? I'm highly skilled at PBR modeling and texturing and could change your project into something marketable within a few days!

If you're interested PM me, I have a very reasonable rate.

Thats an interesting offer you have, but as it stands im currently very happy with how its looking. Even if it isnt professional its got a style going which im fond of, and i would like to be able to call it something completely my own

thank you for the gratuitous offer, I shall keep you in mind for later projects

Whoever thought I'd actually use my analytics data in a useful way. I didn't
Nevertheless it has been used to determine some values for the new survivor achievements, anyone care to test?
