    Hey guys,

This is Shane and Jeremy over at TouchTilt Games and we've been working on Buildanauts which allows the player to build a town from the ground up in an open-world construction simulator. Buildanauts will be on PC, Mac and Linux first, followed by Xbox One, PS4 and WiiU which we currently have licenses for all 3. We've been working in Unity 4x but soon 5 starting with the beta.

We'll be using this thread to update our progress, of which is currently in pre-alpha state so it is not yet feature complete.

Pre-Alpha Trailer (Kickstarter and Greenlight launch coming October 7!)

    Here's a few GIFs.
    Intro:

    Climbing Animation Test:

    Driving Animation Test:

And in this video below, we take a sneak peek at building roads and sidewalks. Once these are placed, your workers will come in and actually build them:

    VIDEO - Climbing and building

Here's just a few things you can do in Buildanauts:

    EXPLORE
Survey a vast open landscape just waiting for your construction crew. Jump in an excavator and dig the terrain, or run around with a shovel looking for resources.

    DESIGN
Shape your structures by choosing paint colors, textures, details, and building material. Then, assign tasks to your skilled construction workers and watch them turn your vision into a reality!

    BUILD
Build your town from the ground up just the way you want it! Use a fleet of heavy vehicles and a variety of construction tools to place city props, lay down roads, and much, much more.

    MANAGE
Keep your resident Buildanites happy! Attract more townsfolk by keeping your town in top shape, but be careful: too much neglect and your Buildanites will move out!

We will soon be on Kickstarter before the end of the month as well as Greenlight. Look for us there!

    Cheers!

Haha, great job!! I like that you don't just build an empty town, but eventually people live in the houses you build and you must manage the town.

    Thanks guys!

Yes you can build a town from nothing into a bustling land of Buildanites (townsfolk) and manage their happiness. ie. Drive the garbage truck around and get their trash, repair roads, expand houses, dig ditches for new water pipes etc..Tonnes of stuff we'll be implementing.

    Cheers.

Is everybody in the town going to be fair skinned, portly and male? If so, then I'm staying the Hell away from the strip club. LOL!

Haha! Definitely not. First of all you'll be able to customize your character in your trailer and once we get some character outfits created we'll just randomize them for the NPC's. Weren't going for male/female rather no gender really.

Very nice, reminds of Metropolismania for the PS2 such a classical and wonderful game, but yours seems to be packed with content and a lot more features with exquisite graphics. Well done! You have truly impressed me. I've been waiting for this kind of game for so long that I do not remember, definitely on my wishlist!

Thanks a lot, MXD! Funny you mentioned that game, we had no idea of it until last week when someone on another site mentioned it. It looks like a great classic!

Well, I'd suggest you could bring some of the ideas from that game as it has a lot, and it is pretty much an awesome classic game.
