    For many of you who purchase our products know we love to create apocalyptic environments,
    for our latest apocalyptic series we have been working on assets aimed at mobile platforms,
    working on assets for mobile was fun and challenging to get great quality and performance.

    A while ago we release Apocalyptic City and was shocked by its popularity within the unity community
    and on the asset store

    So we thought why not remaster all of the Apocalyptic world series to Next Gen standard and create the ultimate apocalyptic asset.
    So we started working on Apocalyptic City 2

    This asset is set to contain 130+ Assets and 20+ terrain assets (Grass / Reeds / Flowers)
    Support for season Changes and Building Interiors

    To be in with a chance of winning this asset let us know what you think or share ideas (Winner Announced On Release)

    Note
    Anyone who owns all 3 parts of the apocalyptic world will get this asset for free (Details To Be Announced )

    I thinks its because we are going for the Next-Gen look and adding in lots of vegetation :)

    Well it will be around 4 weeks before we are ready for release as we have allot of models to remaster
    if this is somthing you do end up using i would like to see what you do with it.

    This will be released as a new asset as these assets have a slightly higher polly mesh and higher resolution textures
    and will not be great on the mobile assets
    This asset we be released at $75 due to its size
    As this would only apply to people who own the assets before we release Apocalyptic City 2
    i'm sure we could come up with something :)

    Those who can't do, teach. I have lots of input on what this asset could really use to make it totally brilliant but I might make it sound like I think it's currently crap if I post all my ideas here ;P So I think I'll limit my opinions to email :p

    I will make two notes here, though... the one thing that really spoiled it for me in your other kits is the car. It actually LOOKS like it was made to be used with low poly games and not like it was made for next gen games. I actually prefer to delete the car completely when I play around with your kits as I really don't like the car (erosional taste). So first note I'd make is to give the car a serious makeover more in line with the extra polys you can waste when dealing in high end projects. For example, no windows... an interior, badly banged up body work etc etc etc...

    Secondly, what would truly make this project stand out even more is some sound effects and animations... Not entire background tracks, just a few sounds like a swooshing effect and some dust when you go around a certain corner and a sound of metal on metal when you get near a sign that is hanging on one chain, flapping around and knocking against itself... maybe a shutter flapping open and closed against the side of a building...

    Basically... animation! Subtle, yet there. Like I mentioned before about the flickering mood lighting. Any animation is always welcome. It can't hurt. Add whatever animations you can for that extra tad of realism...

    Just a thought... Looking forward to seeing the final product :)

    When it comes to cars you really need to keep an eye on poly count as cars need allot, in modern car racing game the cars have up to 100,000 tris
    but but most of the environment is made up with extremely low poly environments and backdrops

    As this asset is not designed for car racing games we need to have a balance between car and environment poly count

    Agreed. No need to go and add all of MotorStorm's level of detail with independently modelled suspensions and what not... But just an update would be most welcome.

    I have the one particular image in mind that would explain exactly what I mean but since I know exactly what I'm after, do you think I can get to on Google? Oh no, sir. Now I get pictures of Mickey Mouse fighting CaptainHook and Mad Max with a dog when I search for car wrecks... :(

    O Yes GUN'S!!!!!!

    In an apocalyptic environment guns would look the same

    but we noticed that these type of weapons are not really available on the unity assets store
    so we decided to create 4 old damaged weapons for this pack

    today we created a M9 Pistol to show the weapon look and quality we are going for

    We want you to decide what outer guns we create so give your ideas

    Here is the first of the 4 guns the M9

    That was a great idea and it has been done and will be shown in the next update :)

    Thats fine we will add a couple more cars

    Absolutely fantastic! One of the things that are lacking the most on the asset store is good quality guns, suitable for FPSs.

    As far as the next guns go, I have no idea what would be fitting. However, I look forward to you people creating more things like this in the future.
    Maybe have a Modern Guns pack? (One that looks good enough to be used in a FPS?)

    Will definitely be getting this in the future!

    Gun Packs was never a plan for us but we may do something in the future.

    I will add an AK74 and street lights are now done and will show in tomorrow update :)

    nice video

    it looks like this asset will include higher resolution / detail version from existing Apocalyptic City assets, is this correct?

    if so, will it include all the models from your existing Apocalyptic City assets?

    No way can you make weapons for a FPS and NOT include a shotgun and a revolver :p
    It would be like an exam without pencils or papers :D

    The original Apocalyptic City used pre-made buildings but this asset is fully modular so we have managed to use higher resolution textures.

    all the models in this asset are taken from the apocalyptic world mobile series but have been remastered for current Gen systems
    we have also added allot of completely new assets also

    I will see what i can do ;)

    This looks amazing! I'd love to see more enterable buildings and perhaps a weapon such as the Mini-14.

    All the building are modular with and all can be made enterable.

    the latest gun we have added is the SPAS-12, i will add the mini-14 later this week and mabey post a little update

    Not Long Now Before Release.

    Hi forum

    We are almost finished

    all we have left to do is Interior props and a few more street props

    So far the asset count is 94 models so at promised the asset count will be 100+ once complete
    the will also be several particle systems and terrain details included

    This asset will also contain 3 Big sample scenes for Summer / Fall / Night (winter may be added but not 100% as yet)

    Will this asset be to big to have a webplayer? as im really excited to have a look around the sample scenes

    Looks like il have to add winter lol will get that done today and post an update later today

    Yes sadly this asset will be far to big to release a webplayer
    so we will have to release a nice HD video to show the asset

    at the moment it is at 1.2GB but will be at around 1.3GB on release
    i have just sent of an email to the asset store team to make sure we are aloud to release as the max for the asset store is 1GB

    Looks like a riot to prototype some survival fps games with - nice work :).

    Maybe see about providing an alternative with lighter textures, atlasing, etc... be nice to see this down to 400mb or so - it looks great regardless so nice work!

    sure looking good!

    if its larger than 1gb and they dont let you release it larger you could always have the hires texture as a separate download off some password protected site that they get access to after they send you a valid invoice number. or you could have customers send them their invoice number and you can email it to them. some of the other authors do that kind of stuff to get around limits... i know real pain and sort of dumb limit for todays times...

    That is a great idea and easy for us to setup
    we could also release the winter textures that way to ;)

    Even though that is a good idea we realy dont want to overlap any UVs as we like to add small details that cant be repeated

    Good New The asset store team have gave us the go ahead for a 1.3GB release

    reflective Parallax Bumped Specular

    indeed it would look good but we would really like to keep this city un-futuristic

    The moss on the buildings is really nice. I'd love to see more vegetation options on buildings even. Thinking more 'Oblivion' (the movie not the game) style where it looks like it has gone through centuries of neglect.

    we did start a si-fi asset a while back but the hard drive it was on give up the ghost lol
    maybe at some point we will look into doing another one :)

    Sweet, free to owners of the five part AW series. As with the weapons, you must have read my mind. Have you traversed time forward to get a glimpse of a true Apocalyptic World, or just a vivid imagination? Pretty soon I should have the craziest looking world; Steampocalypse Modern Fantasy,

    Increased Realism And Offer Update

    Hay Forum

    sorry it has took so long to get this update out.

    We have been working hard to give this asset a touch of realism

    ADDED:

    Reflective windows with dirt
    Wet drips between bricks and
    More smooth realistic looking puddles and puddles on rooftops
    An improved performance vegetation shader
    Interior props.
    Improved performance and particle effects

    We are also continually increasing the size of the sample scene

    We are working to get this asset submitted this week.

    I wanted to go buy the rest so i am ready for release day but then i did the math and it turned out more expensive to buy the parts than to just wait and get the city. But as of this writing, i am sold!

    Let it not be said that you are not a sales person, sir. I will be buying the third kit today. Thanks :)

    yes we will set up a claim page on the TLCindie website were you can submit your invoices
    if you no longer have your invoices the will find a way of you proving your purchase so you can still get the asset :)


    The first 3 parts of Apocalyptic World totals up to $65 making it less than buying Apocalyptic city 2 alone.

    As this is re-mastered for PC and Console platforms and we think that people who have payed out should get it free
    So no i am not a sales person im a person that like to look after there customers :)

    On the asset store on the website, after logging in you can see all your invoice numbers for all purchases so that will make life easy for those who forgot it :)
