animated emissive shader?

Hey I am wondering if anyone knows if there is a animated emissive shader that animates from the center of a mesh (e.g. specifically animating a neuron) I have been searching for one, anyone know if there is one available as I have been unable to find it, maybe I am just not searching specifically enough. can anyone help out it would be greatly appreciated. This is for a project I am doing.
