    I'm the one coding the game :D
    Right now I'm working hard on completing the combat system for player as well for the AI. It will be similar to the one in Chivalry, Mount and Blade, Dark Messiah etc (similar as in inspired).

    Some prototype gameplay will be available this weekend, I believe.

    Thanks Mister D. I am almost finished with weaponry for alpha version so i should be starting on characters in 2 weeks if all goes as planned.

    Gladius, sharp edition, strong on stabing and close/shield combat.

    Ok decided to finish with weaponry assets, its enough for alpha version. Now further props and nature stuff, and in 2 weeks i should be able to start on characters.

    Modular stone bridge. Basically ability to build bridge from gathered stone resources by chunks. This is still WIP asset as i have a lot to modify on it. There will be two types of bridges, stone and wood, advantage of stone bridge is that it is more resistable to catapults.

    Modular assets. Planks are used for building material, for gates enchantment/proping up on siege (each added plank adds 100 health points defense to gates can be mounted on front side only), for fire buildup and other things.Planks are produced from choped trees.Planks for buildings and repairing and proping require steel nails.

    Stone resource, can be mined on open mining (pickaxe).
    Sticks are gathered from trees and can be used for building material, for producing of weapons like spears and bows, can be used for fire buildup too but gives lower fire rate than fire logs or planks. It can be also used for torch creation.

    Steel nails are created from steel bars, or bought at merchants, used for tent placing, planks positioning, buildings repairing/building etc.

    Roasting pannel, for roasting of food also used for soup cooking.

    Pottery/bronze soup bowls. Basically used for food consumption, for example food is first cooked/roasted in campfire, and then by troops taken with this bowls.

    Awesome stuff. Art is great. I'm looking forward to what you guys will be making.

    Just some advice, don't go feature creep crazy as the work will get overwhelming. Start as small as you can, polish it, then keep expanding :) I actually wanted to do a gladiator sim type game. Chivalry was decent but it's nothing like the movie.

    Grain sack, left version is harwesting version, its held in hand while harwesting grain field. Will probably use sack as way to storage most of goods in large quantity in inventory/scene. For LOD1 version i had to use 1k texture otherwise details are too blured, 1k is quite a lot for such small prop, but good side is that distance rendered for LOD1 can be very small as pixels blur it quickly on distance.Grain is raw resource, for food consumption has to be ported into bread.




    Here is workflow example for this asset.
    1.high poly sculpt
    2.retopo, UV unwrap low poly model
    3.extract all required texture maps
    4.paint all maps, this time i was painting stripes normal and AO both at same time on mode, as i made it as separate texture

    Chicken eggs. Chicken produces 1 egg per day, which can be decent access of food daily, however chicken roasted gives much more food. So there is balancing advantage of each side. I am thinking at moment of using 3 chickens per village as maximum, becouse there has to be some limitation due to performance issues. Or additionaly i might create chicken wooden stations where numbers can be expanded without visualy representing them.

    Got 256x256 tex for LOD1, and 64x64 for LOD2.

    This thread looks more like a portfolio or 3D art thread like what we can find in CG Society forums.
    The models and tetxures looks good , but many 3D artists can do as great, why not showing gameplay videos instead ?

    I understand, there is nothing to show for videos yet thats why there are no videos. Level design is on hold until Unity 5 beta/first fixed release and programming is going slow at moment. I keep this thread for myself aswell for blog type posting and to get some opinions / criticism, i can understand it might be annoying seeing it bumped as much since i am posting frequently, but then again i am not breaking any showcase forum rules.

    Fig. Fig tree can be planted in village growing slot and harwested weekly.



    Olives, same as figs grown on slot in village for fruit trees. Can be harwested weekly.

    Cabbage (grown on farm field slot of village)

    Absolutly not annoying. I build my models myself as well (far away from your standard) and I like it as a good inspiration and motivation. Please keep it up! :)

    Wheat. Got normal mapped here, but its very difficult on render normal and so much alpha transparency.

    I can tell you are very passionate about your project by how much you update it! That will get you much farther than those who aren't or who are just trying to make a buck. Keep going and never stop for anything. One day you will look back and it will all be worth it!

    I was wondering if you've written a game design document on the ideas for your game. Besides the first few paragraphs on the first page, do you have any other details? I'm interested in playing a gladiator type game. Ryse was repetitive and awful. Art was amazing though.

    Completly agree tynew, Ryse was a disappointment, Crytek for me personally is company that makes fantastic technology and art, but thats it.
    As for details on first page, they are very outdated i will update it soon.

    Meanwhile programming position is still left open as programmer that joined 2 weeks ago is unable to proceed further.

    Wooden vine barrel. Used for vine and water storage. Good for traveling trough deserts with additional water supply, and vine for selling.

    Boiling water and oil pot, used for siege. It is boiled on fire place (1 min cooldown), when spilled 10 collider boxes (damage) are used to determine volume of damage.

    Got some flowers made as part of vegetation. Used default plane approach for one version, and for other used improvised approach with modeled flower caps which gives better volume.

    Metal spikes, its used as crippling weapon for on foot humans without enough armor on boots equipment and used for horses. Cripple effect lasts 1 minute and decreases speed for -50%.
