    The Game:

Welcome to the most ambitious WebGL game to date. An open world sandbox RPG with endless content. Explore the terrifying abandoned island in search of your uncle, who went missing after the island was locked down by the military. Find hundreds of weapons and secret items. Discover the dark secrets lurking beneath this beautiful yet terrifying place.

    The Technology:

It wasn't easy bringing to life a large and completely dynamic world in web browser. In order to provide this vast amount of content on web browser, a dynamic streaming system was developed from the ground up. Get in the game instantly and let the game stream in the background like a youtube video. Lighting was a massive focus in this game. We developed a revolutionary technology which allows beautiful real time soft shadows at no expense to performance. This game also contains a revolutionary dynamic GI system which has been secretly in development years before the game was made. This GI allows dynamic bounce lighting and skylight shadows/occlusion.

This looks pretty nice. Is this considered a pretty high quality visual output for WebGL?
One point that might not be obvious, the pistol cocking/chambering sound effect is actually a shotgun sound effect. I only noticed it because it stood out as wrong.

    Nice work on release!

WebGL runs about 10% as fast as a windows build would. It's basically more difficult to get good performance on a gaming PC in WebGL than an IOS build on an old Iphone. All the rendering in this game is my own. Unitys shaders, shadows and GI just didn't perform well enough for an open world game in WebGL. Probably near a thousand hours went into the technology in this game to allow open world to even run in WebGL. Now performance for an average gaming PC is 40-60 FPS. The performance varies dramatically in the graphics settings though. 'Ultra' settings are designed for top end gaming rigs. In windows build the game runs 200-300 FPS, so yeah its pretty optimized. :D

I would if I was allowed. This whole thing was funded by Y8. Performance is decent on most gaming machines, especially if you turn the graphics down.
