    Hey everyone,

RealTrees is now available on the Asset Store!

All Realtrees prices have been lowered check them out on the Asset Store!

Buy on the Asset Store here:

    RealTrees Forest Pack 1

    Updated demo "Rainy Windy Forest"

Real Trees* are SpeedTree like trees that I've developed for Unity. They look much better than Unity's trees, have way less tris counts, and are more efficient. You can create great dense looking forests at over 100 fps!

Real Trees use similar techniques as SpeedTree like billboarded leaves and bump maps on the bark.

If you're interested to try it out try the webplayer below!

    RealTrees Forest Pack 1: $10

There are many more Real Trees* trees, bushes, and plants coming and they will all be on the Asset Store (soon) as well as The3dStudio.com.

From what I can see in your demo the trees look nice, but unfortunately on my Mac it looks very dark. Would it be possible to brighten the scene a bit?

Sorry guys I forgot macs and some computers are way darker. It's not supposed to be that dark I'll get right on it and make lighter versions for both the webplayer and screenshots.

Still looks pretty dark on my MBP. I've noticed this before, not sure why some people's posts look great while others look way too dark. I know about the difference between Mac and PC monitors (I've got one of each on my desk) but don't understand why some PC dev's screens look almost black while others look OK.

Edit - Just double checked and the brightness on my display is all the way up.

still pretty dark but now you can actually see it and it does indeed look very nice! im doin a project at the moment which has a predominantly forest setting so im likely to purchase soon.

    keep up the great work!

ps i hope the files are organised more neatly then your forest pack ;) though not too important

@Arcz thanks glad you like it. And yes everything is nice organized and sorted.

And yeah sorry guys I'll make another update and increase it more. It's just that its supposed to be a little dark but I dont want to make it too bright and drown it out. I'll be able make an update soon.

Edit: after looking at the pics on my iPhone I saw the pics are dark I'll adjust it to my iPhone.

yep looks perfect now! just a question though, is it possible to make the trees and leaves sway the way the grass are swaying like there's wind?

Yeah it is, you just add a wind zone and increase the bend amount of the trees.

@Pixero No, they're just like Unity's trees settings wise you just add a wind setting and increase the bend amount. If you're interested I'll make a wind demo?

    Sure.

How did you achieve bump effect on the bark? You have some custom shader?

Tree Creator in unity comes with 2 shaders for leaves and bark with bump and various other maps.

Do these use the Unity tree/terrain system or are they independent tech that will work on IPhone

Yes, they use the Unity tree creator and terrain system. I don't know much about the iphone's limitations with that though.

It looks quite good, but it is only one kind of tree. In real forest there is much more kinds, for example some with branches starting much lower....Btw, which cloud system are you using? Unisky?

No, it's 3 different trees but they're all the same type. Yeah I know some branches start lower but the trees can be tweaked how ever the buyer wants. They're completely adjustable. And it's not Unisky it's a cloud system I'm developing :)

The screenshots looks really good, but I'm not impressed with the webplayer demos, except the tropical ocean one, which looks really good.
Will you upload webplayer demo similar to the second screenshot?

The rainy demos just lacks of realtime shadow, and I think it doesn't show how good your trees are.
