Explosion pack. RELEASED!!!!

    Hello all!

    Just wanted to let y'all know that the explosion pack is released!

    Here is the direct asset store link.

    Here is the Demo Video.

    The pack contains:

    1) A-Bomb!
    2) Artillery strike
    3) Simple explosion
    4) Oil tank explosion
    5) Grenade explosion

    Note this is still pretty new and I will probably be updating a lot as they improve.

    looks great. Have you including physical effects with radius value ?

    It would be great when you can add small flames to some (line picked-)objects in the near of the explosion. :)

    Well, not being a good scripter my self I would probably use the explosion damage/force script from the FPS tut...

    I could probably add some fire by just running a for loop with all the objects marked as flammable near the explosion.. I don't know. It might be hard. If you had a wooden house, how would you tell that the fire should be bigger for that? :/

    I love the dirty explosions, they remind me of halo 1. I will be purchasing this within the next couple days, once I actually get to needing explosions :)

    Looks great! How heavy of a call is that atomic blast, can you run it with stats enabled or provide some feedback on that? I was wondering if this is something that could be implemented on iOS, or is it like Detonator which cannot.

    With no scene it was 7 drawcalls.

    And if you want I could include a version with less particles, optimized for the iphone.

    Ok, well heres the problem. I have a ipod but no IOS version of unity.

    So I cant really test it :( I could do my best to add the correct shaders/reduce particle counts. But I am not sure if it will work.
    Do you have any idea of what I could do?

    It would be great if you could tweak the timing of the explosions without having to change your project's timescale... maybe a script similar to your scale script that tweaks the min/max energy values of the emitters?

    That was what I was thiking as well; For example: The bigger the Nuke explosion, the slower the dustcloud should be..

    Hmmmmmmmmm, well... I am not sure. It might work. Some of the smoke size grow would have to be changed as well so it would not get to big. I could do it for the nuke. But I am not sure for the other ones.

    Do any of you have a idea for this?

    Hmmm, maybe. I have a scale script included but it would be hard... I might give it a try.

    Also, to anyone who bought it, please give it a rating! I am saving for unity pro and a rating really helps!

    Anyone know if this will work with an iOS/mobile project? I've seen some discussion about the possibilities, but nothing about whether or not it would actually work.

    I just imported the project and the first issue that its coming up with is that there are some non-square textures that it cannot convert to PVRTC (square texture requirement).

    Ok, first of all I don't have much background with all this stuff, So you will have to be patient with me. ;)

    First of all I am not quite sure what you mean by PVRTC... If it is something I can change, then by all means I will change it...

    Just saw the video. Will definitely consider buying this. How much is it? Direct asset store link has no details on price.

    Can you please make a web build preview as the video is really blurry even at the highest settings.

    Some suggestions:
    molotov cocktail fire explosion

    a different pack for gunshots:
    a variant of that small sandy explosion (whatever it is) as a "gunshot on sand" particle effect
    "gunshot on metal surface" particle effect
    "gunshot on wood surface" particle effect
    "gunshot on cement/rock surface" particle effect
    an over-the-top exaggerated "gunshot on an enemy" blood particle effect, see image:


    would pay for such a gunshot particle effect pack. thanks.

    Can your pack and explosion packs be used in another engine once bought? I have another game project I am working on using the Neoaxis engine and it really needs a nuclear explosion effect.

    Well, there is not a version for different engines... But you probably with a little time look though the settings and translate them with the proper shaders, etc... I might work, but I have never tried it so I am not sure...

    I just wanted to say, this pack has been invaluable for me not only because of the awesome explosions, but because I can bumble around with various parts of the different explosions to make all different kinds of things that I would never have been able to make myself. For example, by using the dirt streaks/rubble parts of the grenade and putting them together and tweaking the crap out of them, they make amazing dirt plumes for bullet impacts on the ground. And by tweaking some of the fire/smoke systems I've made some sweet muzzle flashes.

    Actually they don't have sound... I would be interested...

    I am not sure how it would work... Would you want to be paid? If so would want per effect? Or just a cut of the money? I am not quite sure...

    The effects look great. Has anyone tried it on an iphone? If it performs well on ios then I'd get it immediately!
