    I want this car one day. Everyone would be so jealous. I'd be wearing a berret and aviators and embassy flags would be mirrored in them as I drive past local villages (like Fidel). My lady would wear extinct animals for such occasions. You have slightly too many edges on the corner of the engine if you ask me but it's easy to remove them. Well done.

    Those were some pretty sweet potatoes I saw a few pages ago. It's hard to make a bag of potatoes look awesome, but somehow, it was done. :)

    Slowly but steadily, this is turning into something that might be usable in a game...

    Hello all! Myself and my senior class at DeVry University in Austin, TX are working on a Kinect game with Unity for our senior project called Telekinect. The main character is a telekinetic and he has two utility orbs to control the elements. Throwing the orbs is one of the main game mechanics (used for challenges and combat), along with telekinesis. We are still early in the prototyping stage so we have a long way to go but I feel we've got a good start. Check out the 2 videos below and let me know what you guys think! We will get better quality videos up in the future....this was just spur of the moment.

    Still working on my 2d/3d side scroller. Been taking alot of feedback from here/youtube and other forums and going to start implementing a few suggestions this week.

    Here's my last video, all feedback is appreciated.

    I decided to model a stupid house, so I did. (I can do much better, but didn't feel like taking time to do it, because I don't need a house for my game! :D )

    omg what a Stupid House!

    Give it to CkSned so he can throw lava Rocks at it and destroy it before it spreads the stupid!
    :p

    hehee

    It's always the last 10% that is the hardest,..and I am hitting that with my final assets. I am so lazy, but I need to draw my NPC's for my game. I can do without, but you know,..it will add more goodness having it, .than not.

    here are some sketches I did today while procrastinating at work,..

    Thanks
    Yeah, they are not 3D or anything, nor will they move. Just characters you meet along the way. Sort of in the vain of those rpg type menus
    Example:

    The game lore is centered around a crystal mining Moon, hence the scientist and Miner-type.

    looks good. If I have time tomorrow(at work :p) I will def do a pass.

    I have never exported for a 3D game before though( 2D yes,..3D no)
    So let me ask this:

    after I am done,..should I bake out all the joints and simply kick it back as an FBX?

    We need another SHRUBBERY! :p

    look'in good!

    Looks nice! It's neat to see the variation of different projects people put unity up to the task to!

    On my own project, I think I'm starting to get the hang of this!

    The shorelines are kind of rough, but nothing some transitional textures can't cover up!

    Without the water. I really shouldn't let unity generate normals, it doesn't really work. :(

    You can derive the normals yourself from the heightmap input. This is ripped straight from a Dice paper - you'll have to do bounds checks aswell so it doesnt grab pixels that dont exist!

    Code (csharp):
    1.
    2. public Vector3 FilterNormal(float[,] heightmap, int x, int y)
    3. {
    4.     Vector4 h;
    5.     h.x = heightmap[x, y - 1];
    6.     h.y = heightmap[x - 1, y];
    7.     h.z = heightmap[x + 1, y];
    8.     h.w = heightmap[x, y + 1];
    9.
    10.     Vector3 n;
    11.     n.z = h.x - h.w;
    12.     n.x = h.y - h.z;
    13.     n.y = 2;
    14.
    15.     return n.normalize();
    16. }
    17.

    Just implemented a few of the ideas people gave me as comments after the last video.

    - The house's in the game are only active once the player is within a certain range, so that having multiple houses active doesn't lag it up.

    - When the lava rock hits the ground another piece of rock debris spawns and shoots off, this will probably damage the player.

    - Ive gave the player a shield ability. Right now it is infinite and the player can use it whenever they want. But it will be changed to a pickup.

    Any other suggestions :p ?

    this guy has manboobs, you have to do something about it! :D i think the stomach and the chest texture is too small for this model, you have to resize it or something.

    i see you had some progress since this post, but here is a good link on perlin noise: http://webstaff.itn.liu.se/~stegu/TNM022-2005/perlinnoiselinks/perlin-noise-math-faq.html

    Marble game, early stage, physics working well. Now learning to program a gui interface for the score system, then a AI player.

    In game pics, the tree shadow is animated:

    Hey!

    xxxDJ

    send me your email so I can send you this test animation.

    I rigged the character so I can animate it,..but I dont think FBX will allow my IK (Maya) so I baked out the joints.

    I want to make sure this will work before I spend time doing it for real

    thanks!

    Yeah, has a nice feel to it.
    You could have birds singing, breezes blowing, maybe playground noises for ambient sounds.
    Maybe some younger child voices that say something like "yeah!" when the player makes a good shot or "no!" on a bad one.
    Sorry, I know you didn't ask for my ideas...

    It's the right atmosphere for this game... will be some enviroments like: park, beach, etc.. with sounds to construct a immersion on the game...

    Thanks!
