Yeah, I am happy with this plan. And I agree, the release shouldn't be held up any longer. :)

Also, I really like the new bridges, making my own bridges was always such a pain (probably because I am more of a programmer than a modeler). Now, it will be much easier and I can easily adjust the bridges as necessary. Keep up the great work.

    Hi @nosyrbllewe

Glad that you like what you like what you see from my side.
It really is an extensive Bridge Kit that will be given, I should have that completed and into the Unity project today still.
What is cool is that it can then be easily used with other projects even.

    Cheers

@S4G4N What sort of things are we going to see in the initial release of the kit?

With all the stuff you've been showing lately as well as user requests, I've lost track of what we've got to look forward to in v1.0 :)

I think pretty much everything he is showing pictures of is going to be in v1.0. The stuff that has only been talked about and is on the list in the main post is what I think is stuff for later releases. Correct me if I'm wrong Cobus.. :)

Hi @Shawn67 You are mostly correct, everything you have seen and much more will be in v1.0 :):)

As stated in a previous post, even before the bridges started,, like half way though the "plinths" the Exteriors already exceeded the Interiors Kit mesh count, then the wider ones came, the wooden walkways, bridges ...

I would like to have included
    - Trees, bushes, shrubs, flowers & grasses
    - Outdoors Props Pack
In the v1.0 release depending how time goes

But right after release, will be a quick update for the Interiors and then right onto the FREE update road map

I think if users can start give me feedback on the forum as to order of importance of what they would want to see done first and so forth, it would be great, just like

    1.
    2.
    3.
    4.
    5.

    Just a short list :)

    Cheers

This order works for me as well.. Er.. Actually, I'm not planning for castles or cathedrals for my game, so I'd probably push that one off the list and add the tunneling system at 5. But all in all I know it is all coming and a lot of folks do want the castle part, so really, I'm good with whatever order you decide to release with. I'm still dealing with figuring out / designing all my game mechanics and am at a point where I can deal with place holders for a while yet. :)

Great, it is nice to see the choices :):):)

For the Wooden and Stone City Walls Kit I have exciting plans, stairs and all that so that you can run up at the top of the walls, nice wall entrances and all that, more draw bridges...
for a neat wooden , then a rough with the spikes on top and then nice sturdy Stone ...

Hey @Archania , welcome to the thread.

It is awesome that you like what you see,

It is very different from reading and scrolling down a list on a product page to see lines of text than having eyes on the last leg of development, the ability to add constructive input, help shape what you going use, and just having fun discussions.

Please add you list of FREE updates that can be found on the first page.

    Cheers

I guess I will be the odd man out..or woman, whatever. :)

    1 Bridges
2 House and building exteriors, thatch roof and wooden/slate roof
3 Harbor with docks and walls.
4 Windmills, lumber mills, water wheel, etc.
    5. Exteriors for the cathedral and castle

I like it all but just listing what I need first. I can wait for the rest if necessary. :p

For the Castles kit, could you do some walls, etc. like in this pic that give the impression of being purpose-built to withstand the ravages of the sea? :)

Your nr 1 & 2 except for the thatch texture will be part of v1.0 release, so half your list done ;)

    @smada luap
Between the Cathedrals & Castles update and the City Walls Update there should be LOTS to give lots of options to build these.

OK, AS promised, here are the screenshots for some of the prefabs for the stone bridges.

I also added some 2,5m & 5m wide drawbridge props, poles/frames, gear mechanisms(exported separate for rotation)
What is cool to note that the arches that was used there will also become wall parts in future add-ons, so that you can have an arched walkway around the outside of a building or such. Here you can see two arches being used, there are several more even.

You can build from short, just two modules to what ever nice looooong spanning bridges.
I will look to still add a small selection of mini-plinths so that they can be placed at the bases of the arches, so that it can span a deeper area of water as well.

Will come show screenshots when done :):):)

    Cheers

    Hey,

Wanted to just add some example screenshots with a very basic landscape sculpt
Also showing, from small little wooden bridge to VERY large one o Stone here, but the wooden prefabs for the larger versions all are included
You will also notice I added like bases for the "pillars" so that they can stack to whatever height or rather depth you want

Yup. I'm definitely  going to have to get some practice in with dealing with Unity's terrain system as this is probably going to be the best way to work these assets into the environment. :) o_O

My problem is always getting crap to blend.. Like the road in the last picture. My roads and paths NEVER look that good. I need to sit and play around with RTP and all the brushes and crap over the span of a couple of weeks and really figure all that stuff out... lol

    @Shawn67 @smada luap

You pick the first texture that will end up be the base texture for the moment you pick the first one,
it covers everything with that one.
Then paint the mains like roads as solid, no worry about blending yet
Then add the nest like say the rocky soil to crevices ans such
All this with the first fussy edged brush.
Then I use the 5th or 6th brush with very low opacity at first, fairly large so that I then pain the path texture over the edged into the soil and then with a slightly smaller one pick the sol texture and paint back over the edge and then try shape the road edge.

Then make the splatter brush way smaller, crank opacity/strength even to full and then carefully paint small areas of the chosen texture very strong
I almost never use a crisp edge brush, looks unnatural.

    I learned from Youtube

Hope that gives some idea :):):)

My biggest problem is initially deciding which textures would look good to use. Then it comes down to actually sculpting the landscape - I rarely get anything that looks like it's natural :)

That could be nice, I provide that gear thing separate, as you can see this one sits inside a wooden frame as a child object, to it can be stuck onto the wall floor with even a level next to it, so many ways, pressure plate ...

So really what your game scene allows or you like

Shawn, RTP will allow you to use fewer textures with similar effects. You can even blend planes as roads/paths now. :)

Btw, Cobus...I have the perfect place for that draw bridge!! :) I will have to send you a picture.

lol! Yup.. I know you can... I just have to figure out the how... Going to need to dig into both Terrain Composer and RTP when I get to that point.

Cobus, I totally missed the wheel's on the drawbridges... lol SNEAKY! :p

It makes a HUGE difference to just show the bridge geometry alone, and then how cool it looks to place it in a "real" environment.
There are not even plants, trees, grasses, or rocks and it looks way better .
Paste a pic here or email :)

Okay, here is where I need that bridge. :) This one is very pretty but it is too grand for a small village. It was the only one I could find that fit and didn't look stretched or weird.
