Saving a scene

So I wanted to make a new scene, so I saved my old scene placed it in a folder outside of unity and also placed it in building settings inside of unity, When ever I want to open up and use the old scene it only allows me to "Play!" it, I cant work with it at all, is there any hope for me to reopen the scene again so I can work on it?
