I don't see any political flame in this thread. A wall of text isn't equal to a flame war and there is nothing in the posts which could be considered offending.

    Well nothing is perfect!
In Denmark we use a lot of bikes because we think its much easier. I understand that people from other countrys dont really understand it, but thats how it is :)! Also you are in the biggest city in Denmark, Copenhagen. All big citys has chaos :p And when i said chaos i didnt mean that kind of chaos. More like the kind of chaos they have in Ukraine right now.
Yes, things are expensive compared to other countrys :p

"Pacifism" really isn't the problem here. I won't go further into detail though, since this would be nothing more than derailing this thread. If you want to have a nice discussion, send me a PM.

PS: Oh, and do a factual argumentation then. Cut all this "You are an example", "What do you think", "How often do you", etc. Backing your argumentation with someone else's opinions really doesn't help you. Especially considering that you don't know me and it's all just a bunch of assumptions anyway. Take a step back and stop being personal.

That would require to post a statistic based on a survey - but this is not necessary because you just have to listen to what people say or write. (I doubt that you live in some strange part of Germany which is full of warmongers)

But if you need a simple proof: Just go to a toy store and ask for a little toy Panzer - they will look at you like if you just have asked for child pornography.
(I did that 3 years ago in several stores because I needed a gift for someone who always called himself a Panzer because of a weight problem - the look was always the same mix of disbelief and disgust… 35 years earlier all those stores had toy panzers)

    Ufff...
That sounds and awful lot like: "I don't need facts, just look at <whatever proves my point in some way>"
However, that wasn't what I meant.
I meant that you should stop pushing the argument in a personal direction. (Nüchtern argumentieren/Mich nicht persönlich einbeziehen bitte)

Reminds me of when I bought Counter-Strike (or was it The Orange Box?) years ago. Cashier looked at me like I was applying for Germany's Next School Shooter.
Still, the underlying problem(s) are different ones, not pacifism.

Again, the title of this thread is "What country are u from?" and not "How are life and politics over in Germany?"
Better write a PM, we're just spamming here. :D

What makes you think I'm a fan of his? By declaring war on Germany he bankrupted and destroyed the British Empire, handed one half of Europe to Communism, and the other half to the United States. Britain gained nothing and lost everything.

He didn't attempt to normalize relations. He had many opportunities which he rejected.

He came in charge on May 10 May 1940 which was the day the Battle of France started. Would have been a funny timing to say "hello friends!" at this moment.

Not true, of the list of 200 countries recognised by the UN, the British did not invade 22 of them - Andorra, Belarus, Bolivia, Burundi, Central African Republic, Chad, Congo, Republic of Guatemala, Ivory Coast, Kyrgyzstan, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Mali, Marshall Islands, Monaco, Mongolia, Paraguay, Sao Tome and Principe, Sweden, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Vatican City. The Germans are one of the least violent people it just happens to be the case that once they get going they are particularly good at it.

I'm from the UK but live in Germany. Surely it's a good thing the British Empire collapsed, not like it benefited anyone but a few and like all Empires it was built and maintained with violence. They didn't rack up 29 million people killed over the cause of the Empire for being rather nice, a number of dead supposedly beaten only by the Mongols who were such a plague on the planet some places have never recovered.

People don't know about the atrocities done by the British Empire, like the actions against the Mau-Mau or the Amritsar massacre. Sometimes I feel, in school, that the British Imperials marched into some place holding a cuppa and a bad sunburn. We used to be the Colombia of our day. Drug lords made us go to war with China to defeat their policies of, you know, trying to stop the opium scourge blighting them at the time. Since we had the largest navy in the world, at the time, we shelled them and invaded, and made them continue to buy our opium and all.

No, the British Empire wasn't particularly nice. But time, and history writers, have defanged it.

    Which part of Switzerland ?

I'm from the French speaking part of Switzerland.

For those that don't know, Switzerland is like 3 countries put together where people don't even speak the same language, not cool ...

And yes, I worked in a bank lol (in the IT department).

I went to Lucerne once, it is very nice.

No, we don't speak German here at all. I did study German at school during 8 years, but never really practiced it, so my level is really bad.

So just French. English is only at work sometimes and on the Internet :)
