Hi all, I've just published my first android game to the Google Play store All comments or suggestions are welcome.
I've made a web player version which you can take a look at here... https://googledrive.com/host/0B5l0ODTXynx1aU1HQmFzTk9CMlU/Unity.html On the web player version you control the character with the space key and you can navigate back from any menus by pressing ESC. I hope you enjoy it and welcome any comments and suggestions on how I might improve it.
Updated game today, added Google Play Game services leader board. I was hoping I might have had a bit of feedback, but I guess the lack of it tells me something anyway
I've updated my game again today, added the following amongst other things :- * Bonus gems to collect on all levels * Achievements Apart from the UK, I have had downloads of the game in Austria, Australia, China, Germany, India, USA and United Arab Emirates so far, it's quite a strange to think that people all round the world are playing my little game I've got more stuff planned to be added to it soon, including more levels and achievements and an iOS version is also in the pipeline. Also I'm considering purchasing an addon for facebook, as I get the impression that for leader boards and achievements it might be better than Google Play Game Services, what do you think? I've decided to keep it completely free, I'm never going down the in app purchase route, as personally I hate that in a game. Game Store Link
Updated my game today, added a load of achievements and put the framework in place for the addition of further levels. Game Store Link
Released another update. More levels Multiple skill levels and high score leaderboards More achievements. Working on adding Facebook integration now. Please take a look, I'd love some feedback of some kind Game Store Link
I just played the web version, truly addictive game. I luv the style, gameplay, just a fun addictive game, that I really enjoy playing! Just curious as to how many total levels you have built for the game? Great job! -Raiden
Hey Raiden, thanks for the nice comments, glad you enjoyed playing it. There's 10 levels on the web player version, but that version is a bit old compared with the Android version on the Play Store. On the Android version there are currently 13 levels. 10 beginner levels and 3 intermediate levels. Eventually there will be 10 each of beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. Once you complete enough levels in one grade you unlock the next grade. There are also loads of achievements to unlock on the android version if you log into Google Play. I'm currently working on adding Facebook support for sharing scores and achievements etc. and at some point I'll update the web player version to bring it inline with the android version. Due to my inexperience I'm currently in a position where I can't build it for the web player without getting errors
I've fixed the compilation errors on the web player version and uploaded the updated build. https://googledrive.com/host/0B5l0ODTXynx1aU1HQmFzTk9CMlU/Unity.html On the web player version you control the character with the space key and you can navigate to the main menu and back from other menus by pressing ESC.
a cool 2d game how do you make games for mobiles should you import any package which comes on installation?
Thanks It depends on your needs whether you import packages or not. For example I used packages for AdMob, Google Play and some particle effects, however you don't actually need any extra packages to make an Android game.
Do you mean my game? In which case just touch and hold the screen anywhere to make the character rise up, and release the screen to let him descend.
Hi all, I've just finished a big update on Pobble. Dropped Google Play Game Services in favour of App42 backend and Facebook. It now doesn't require any kind of login to earn achievements and record scores to the leadeboards, however if you do choose to login with Facebook you can share high scores on your timeline (more Facebook stuff will be added in future updates). If you want to check out the changes here are the links. https://apps.facebook.com/pobblequest On the Facebook version you press SPACE to make Pobble float and release it to let him descend. Any comments suggestions and bug reports are as always very welcome. Thanks.
Finished the second phase of Facebook integration today, it now posts to FB when you complete levels for the first time (if you allow it to) and you can also send AppRequests to your friends. Just waiting for Facebook to approve my graph action now.
Men i love the game! very nice job Wana make a game with me? i am c# programmer and 2d and 3d artist and motivated for 100% Skype : Vince Kieft or send private message back if you are intrested
Hi Vince, thanks for the nice comment. Sadly I'm not in a position to take on any new projects in the near future.
Facebook approved my app and it's graph stories Quite a milestone for me, this is my first game project that I've managed to see through to release, and it's only taken 2 months from when I first started planning it. I'm still going to be adding more levels to it, and I've currently got someone working on making some better sound effects. https://apps.facebook.com/pobblequest
