Hi! I created a tutorial for anyone looking to try out Autodesk's new Character Generator, and get their custom characters running with Mecanim.

In Part 1, this tutorial will show you how to generate a fully rigged and textured 3D character model using only a web browser and Autodesk’s Character Generator tool. Anyone can try this out and create an entire library of custom characters. At the end of Part 1, you will have an FBX mesh and rig, textures for diffuse, specular and normals, and even a Maxscript to convert the bones to biped.

In Part 2, you will import this character model into the Unity4 engine, where you will swap the rig for Mecanim’s humanoid rig. This will allow you to use animations from the Unity Asset Store and immediately animate your character. To finish it off, the tutorial will put your new character into Unity’s crowd example scene, just for fun.
