It works great! Will I just have to 'surive' meaning I have to collect materials, food, water, etc ? Or certain enemies?

In time you will have to kill animals to get food and get minerals to make weapons and armor to fight the very dangerous night or you can build an house with a building system i am working on to protect your self

just like minecraft but not blocky

    Hi,

good work, you said you use terravol, so I would firstly stop using diffuse shader (terravol has built in tri-planar). Secondly I would overwork the normals, they have sometimes hard edges. For further inspration try out multiple materials , to make your landscape mor interesting.

good luck (I have coded my engine for marchingcubes myself - what an exhausting work)
