I'm inporting a project from Unity 4.1 to 4.2, and it imported all of the assets (3 hrs worth), I then opened up the Asset Store and updated a very small asset (SceneMate). So Unity thought it would be cool to reimport all of the assets again (Another 3 hrs)!!

    WHY??? WHY???? WHY????

3 hours...how big is your project file exactly? Doesn't sound very suitable for a playable build.

However i looked up 'SceneMate' and it seems like it could rely on accessing other assets which could result in a reimport.

@Crazy Robot - submit a bug report, include the project, and ask the Unity devs to make this not happen again. (If you have an archive from 4.1 before you updated to 4.3, then that might be useful.
