CATDAMMIT! is an upcoming run&jump&hack&slash game by Polish indie duo: Fir&Flams. This is going to be our first game and it is set for release as a free PC / Mac web browser app in late June, 2013. It was made for EDGE and UNITY3D's GIG Challenge but... so we are using a free version of Unity, which means all the shadows and are hand drawn etc :) i hope you like what you see!

CATDAMMIT! tells the story of a milcoholic cat, high on catnip, who finds himself a chainsaw in a nearby dumpster! But what will the gameplay be like?

    - Arcade game with cartoony visuals about a milcoholic hobo cat with a chainsaw!
    - Run, jump, hack and slash through the streets of Catville!
    - Reach spot X at the end of the level as fast as possible!
    - You can either be a good kitty and cause no damage... or destroy everything!

The game will be available to play for free (free, not some f2p:)) in the browser by the end of June, 2013

More info on our Official Blog: http://firflams.com and our Facebook Fanpage: http://facebook.com/firflams

I'm looking forward to your opinions,
    Artur

Your art style is amazing! I love how crisp everything looks!

Will be looking forwards to seeing the game in motion and giving it a try for myself!

Just a heads-up, your links don't work (the URL's are fine, but actually clicking them doesn't work)

This is great! Love crazy cat!

The only thing I noticed that looks a touch out of place are the cars. Their colors are fully saturated and they don't seem to get any shading, at least in the screenshots above.

    Excellent work :)

Awesome, guys! I'm glad You enjoyed it! MooseMouse, to be honest it's all unlit material, nor real shading or shadows/lighting :) All handywork :)

Awesome looking game. You might want to remove the "dammit" from the name.

Some parents will not buy your game when they hear "dammit" in the name.

But I'm not selling it :) It will be completely free playable in web browser :) Either way, the game contains mature themes so it's good that the title acts as a warning :)

Very cool. I had this idea of some "GTA with cats" vs. dogs and animal catchers and this seems to go into a similar direction, but is much cooler. The art-style is great.

    Woah Dudes!

    Just saw this at Kotaku.

I can only repeat what the other people said. Fresh and unique art direction. And I love that you think outside the box with a funny and mature theme.

It's even more impressive that you used the free version. What brings me to the question, how did you those glow effects without screen FX?

nipoco, thanks! tempting, but the browser version of the game is still going to be free:)

maybe we could call it a lsandbox (but very, very tiny - few blocks :)), but with constant destruction and no time for chit-chattery :)

    Hello everybody!

For some time now, we have been preparing a huge update to CATDAMMIT! The free addition will upgrade the game to the "Director's Cat" version and will feature interiors, new enemies, new gameplay ideas. The game will still be free (browser) and also downloadable! Here are some cool animated gifs showing new stuff :

As y'all can see today's treat is "eyeblowing gif armageddon" that's as bad for your brain as it is for our PR. Because, yeah - who would ever want to play a game where you chase little cute cat prostitutes, demolish a convenient store in the middle of the day and get down and ugly with rat King's sewer hole...

So we hope you all like they idea of some new mechanics in CATDAMMIT! Director's Cat. You are going to be pulling some levers, collecting keys and dodging Rat King's hit-farts of fire. Stay classy.

So awesome, really have to play this game : )
Love the "adult theme" touch as well, so few games that dare to do that.

Well if you are making updates, when I played it the big yellow sign that warns me about the chainsaw getting too hot says chinsaw. Might want to fix it .

It looks like fun - though I died quite quickly.- but I do not have the fastest fingers in the world on a keyboard ;-)

    cheers, gryff :)

@virror - thanks! about adult themes... we're indie - if not us then who? yeah, porn industry :D
@gryff thanks for the tio, good point but ... but it is a "chinsaw" after all! just like this one, but in the chin too:

No just the KB. Never been very good with games that require fast fingers. Will see if I can get one of my daughters to play - or their boyfriends.

    cheers, gryff :)

Thanks, guys! We are still working on some improvements so here's a picture showing a few new things at once. I had the idea to randomly show some elements/events on the map, so each time you play - the experience will be quite different. I hope it works well for the players. Cheers!
