Hello, do you know in Unity 4 free if shaders are available? Currently I use some C++ game engines to play with shaders, but I think about switching to Unity because it seems very user friendly. Any ideas?
Shaders docs, http://docs.unity3d.com/Documentation/Manual/Shaders.html And built-in shader sources, http://unity3d.com/unity/download/archive
That's cool, as far as I remember shaders were not supported back in the old Unity 3.5 right? Good news then.
The only problem is you can't read from the depth buffer in the free version so what you can do is somewhat limited, since many of interesting shader effects would require that
Shaders were always part of Unity free. Some other things, like ability to render into a texture, are Unity Pro.
