POSITION: SOFTWARE ENGINEER (3D Viewer - C# / Unity)

PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
The company’s chief products are a patented camera that captures and produces seamless 3D images of any interior space and the data contained in the images. As a B2B2C startup, Matterport both works with business partners to serve their customers and is building its own direct customer base – so Matterport connects with a variety of users and buyers who can use the technology for varied purposes. Potential buyers for the cameras, image data and related professional services include companies in the real estate, construction and retailing industry sectors. A consumer version of the camera will enter production in 2013.
This person in this position will be the lead developer for our 3D viewer, handling development for both the engine and the interface. The viewer is how the world sees the places captured by our cameras, and we're looking for someone to keep the experience intuitive, seamless, and stable. This role includes continually improving the viewer based on user feedback and for performance, stability and new feature development.
The viewer is currently built in Unity for both web and iOS, so Unity (with C#) experience is strongly preferred. Longer term, we may adapt the viewer to other engines such as WebGL, Flash, and native iOS/Android, so broader programming experience is also desirable. We're looking for someone who can work independently, communicate well with other team members, and write clean, stable code. This position doesn't require UX or design experience, but a good design sensibility is a plus.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
• Proficient in Unity with C#
• Strong general programming skills
• 2+ years of programming experience, 5+ preferred
• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a similar field preferred
