Hi all! My name is Artem, i from Russia (sorry for my bad English). I'd like to show you the game, has been made by my friend Sergey. I think this is very cool project because it's looks fantastic and has been created with one person. Please see it and share impressions. Maybe developers of Unity Engine interested in this project and help to Sergey to grow in game developing.

    Play the game there:

Выглядит очень здорово, звучит тоже. Насколько справедливо называть это игрой - я не знаю. Я бы назвал это интерактивным шараханием. Тем не менее визуал впечатляет, отличная работа!

Looks great, sounds great! I'm not sure if you can really call it a game, it is more like interactive ... wondering of some sort? But visuals are stunning, great work!

I'm not sure what this game is about or what the player is supposed to do but the graphics are incredible! I have never seen such high quality graphics in Unity before! Well done :)

Sadly, you just missed out. They just finished Unite 2012 last week.

"...The night began with the Unite 2012 Awards Ceremony, which honored the developers creating the best videogames and interactive apps using Unity..." ".....The judging for the awards was done by the Unity Technologies team over a series of several weeks; nominees were then narrowed down to a group of finalists, which were then voted on in a blind poll. Open nominations for the next Unity Awards will begin in Spring 2013."

    http://blogs.unity3d.com/2012/08/28/unite-12-day-3-summary/
    http://unity3d.com/awards/2012

I guess you can still show your stuff here in this forum, and by next spring, be nominated for Unite 2013.

No I'm asking for an online version - not a download in a Russian page that we can't all read.

Hi! Thank you for your feedback! Lighting made with simple directional light and in some places the light point. Bake it all with a single Lightmapping with AmbientOcclusion. Optimized without Occlusion Culling. Just camera cuts off layers at different distances: small objects is not far, larger - far off. + Use triggers when entering, the script disables unnecessary objects.

Shadows need some adjustment and, for a big open scenario like this, virtual texturing would give AAA look for the environment.
Overall, the art is very well done; very nice project.

Just one thing though, you should hide the mouse cursor during gameplay for people to better enjoy the scenery.

And for people who want to try the game, follow the link provided by the OP. You'll have to watch an ad for 30 seconds before being able to download. Google translate the page, it helps ;)

That looks amazing! Tell your friend they did an excellent job. I'm seeing effects that I didn't know unity could even do :) I might suggest turning down the motion blur effect, especially as it relates to the player's positional movement. It looks good when the player turns, but the effect is too strong when they are walking around and it obscures nearby details.

At first, I thought you pulled a Battlefield 3 map into Unity.

Then, I realized that this was all custom, and my jaw fell through the ground, presumably arriving somewhere in China.

Well done. That is all I have to say.

Your use of light, color contrast really appeals to me. You have done a great job of capturing an abandoned and creepy atmosphere without making it all grey/brown. The movie theater is amazing (something I have tried doing in the past, no where near as good as yours).

Is this going to be a game? What are your plans for this little world you have created?

Mac or webplayer version? Not going to bother downloading a .rar (horrible closed format) just to find out that it's Windows only.

It wants you to fill out a survey and pay-to-access the file. Don't use that link

If you use Google translate to read the page, you can choose an advertiser link that does not force you to fil out any surveys or pay to access the file. Just click on the advertiser, wait for the 30 second countdown to complete, and then download the file.

I'm impressed. The lighting and assets are of a higher quality than the average demo or asset store asset from Unity (although that is starting to change).

I like the ambient music as well. I couldn't find how to turn on the projector in the theater room, but the youtube video was awesome.

Where are those guys ranting about how Unity is mostly for mobiles as it is not good enough for AAA graphics?
    Yeah... thought so.
Those graphics... and the sun blinding effects....

Though I see you guys have some problems with the stairs. Need to jump instead of simple walking.
That can be easily worked out.

    Good job!

I agree, this one looks fantastic.

You guys should check out The Train, also a game made by the same developer if I'm not mistaken. Here's a link to a trailer.

How did you got that flashlight effect? I mean is it just a spotlight? Because it doesn't look like it flat you know? It has a light flare, glow effect, white color...
