Texture Atlas Tutorial

I don't claim to be a master at this, so please discuses below if you know of a better way, something I'm not aware of and or something I missed.

With that said, I hope this helps someone out there trying to put all the parts together or gather a good starting point in understanding how to texture atlases.

 

Thanks for the intro, I'm trying to learn how to do this. Kind of hard. I wish this tutorial was for maya, but thanks anyways.
