    Game Concept:
The game is an open world multiplayer RPG first/third person shooter played across many different and varying environments. The player takes on the role of a teen that needs to learn a variety of different skills as well as cooperating with other players in order to defeat the primary antagonists. These skills can vary between combat on the ground through to piloting space ships or mechs against the game series common enemy.
The player will start basic training in the Corps (Alpha Base). Once enough training missions have been successfully completed, the player is ready to join one of the Space Dwarves' divisions.
The bionic marine missions will be fought in various bases and facilities.
The mech missions will be in different open battlefields.
The space missions will be in open space and asteroid fields.
    Multiplayer:
Players will have a list of open games that they may join or have the option to create a custom game of their own. Several open world/space and auction/trade games will always be running without the need for players to create them.
The players may make games that are open world/space, player verses player, instance, open space or battlefields.
Open world/space will be able to hold a maximum of 24 players and will not have password or player verses player options.
Instance games will also be for player housing and auction/trade games. These games will always be the same as open world with a maximum of 24 players and be open to all.
The auction system will be accessible across all open games.
    Special features:
    Player characters as your Companions.
With multi-character control (MCC), players are able to command up to four characters simultaneously. No longer limited to playing one character at a time, players can instantly switch between their favorite character classes or control them all at once.
A hero is an NPC who can be added to a party to act in place of a human player. In this game, you will be able to use your alternate characters as your heroes. Players can simply make a character and save it then make another.
When the player makes enough characters to form a group (4) they choose a character then select to bring out the alternate characters as heroes. They will all get the same experience and skill gains. With our system, if a player uses all his characters to complete a quest, each character's record will be updated, as well as allowing the player to pick a reward for each character used. This feature means that it is possible for all players to be able to level and advance all their characters at the same time.
    AI tactical setting:
Each character will have an AI menu that will allow players to set 10 conditions and actions for their character to function when they are not being directly controlled by the player. This system will be much like the companion system in the Dragon Age games except in this game the system will be used for all the players’ characters. There will also be a four-slot combination system to set the character’s most used abilities in sequence.
    Choose your play style:
The players will be able to choose their style of play; be it standard RPG, first-person-shooter or third-person-shooter. Players will simply toggle between styles of play with the push of a button.

    2. The Theme

After years of war resulting in widespread misery, the political system all but collapsed. Governments and countries effectively became corporate fiefdoms, each roughly representing the major cultural regions across the world. This enabled a period of stability and relative prosperity that established an almost unassailable power-base for the corporate executives. This prosperity, however, resulted in the Earth becoming overcrowded.
Thankfully, the corporate executives had a solution that would be mutually beneficial to both the population and to the corporations. With an ever-increasing need for raw materials, several of the largest corporations had taken over and developed the old space programs and discovered a new solar system ideal for their purposes. Many of the new planets and planetoids were terraformed into new Earths and colonized by the different corporations.
In the year 2561, three major corporations emerged as dominant and controlled the three different planet clusters. Space had become commercialized. In 2581, Earth's coalition authority agreed a ban on any militarization of space colonies. The colonies were governed by contracts and treaties instead of military might. The planetoids closest to Earth were controlled by R.O.M.E (Robotic Off-world Mineral Extractors. Inc.). These small earths were the richest in minerals and resources out of all of the known planets.
A deadly virus spread throughout the colonies killing everyone over the age of thirteen.
It was not long before the corporation discovered what had happened. In an effort to cleanse the colonies of this virus and to recover their assets, the company set out to exterminate the remaining population i.e. to kill the children.
The current setting is that the children are organizing and training to fight off the company's exterminating forces. Military ships and weapons have been discovered in violation of Earth's non-militarization order. The children must learn how to use them and organize a fighting force to not only fight off the coming attack from Earth, but to also contend with military robots activated by the company on the planets and in space that have been programmed to kill them.
The children discover that certain bionic implants can prevent them from dying even after entering puberty. The games will be centered on gaining program upgrades (skills) for the bionic implants and to enhance their training in both the Bionic Marine Corps and the Space Fleet. The game will take place in the two academies, which will be located on the planets and space stations located in each system.

You'll want to play Space Dwarves because we're gamers too, and stuff that annoys us are the same things that annoy you. So this means that:

    • After initial purchase of Space Dwarves, there will be no subscription charges. Custom gear will be purchasable and there will be an auction system accessible across all open games, which you can choose to fully utilize, or opt instead to kick invader butt with the standard equipment.
    • The Space Dwarves universe will continue to expand long after initial release, as dozens of planets and solar systems unlock as you and your friends push back the aggressors!
    • You have six character slots as default, which combined with our open skill system will mean there's plenty of scope to develop characters for the way you want to play... and have a different experience with each of them as you develop their unique combos of combat, crafting, piloting and gathering skills to better defeat the enemy.
    • No trooper left behind! With our Multi Character Control system, it will be possible for you to control several of your characters at the same time while playing marine infantry levels. Not only will it provide you with a fresh challenge, but it will also enable you to develop the separate skills of each character at the same time without the need to rotate characters in order for them to “catch up”.
    • You get to choose your preferred gaming style (first-person third-person RPG), and can toggle between them at the press of a button.
    • Not in the mood for RPG? Grab yourself a mech and assault an enemy base, or answer the emergency shout and man a spaceship to engage the enemy in some fast-paced aerial action. But this is no time for taking a break, grab your gear marine, we still need boots on the ground if we're going to beat these suckers!
    • If you can handle our PvE action, then you got the skills to survive a PvP arena - or have you? ...only one way to find out; get in the ring! OK, so now you're a tough guy and all your squaddie mates salute your awesomeness... but wait, there's Mega PvE and Legendary PvP too, so come and have a go if you think you're hard enough!
    • You get to choose the type of game to make, or join an open game. Our game rooms are persistent until everyone has left, and with up to 24 players per game, the hot zone might scorch your eyebrows off!
    • Live events and in-game events are a key feature in Space Dwarves which makes it vastly different from most other multi-player games. There are different types of events, which are run over several days or at specific times. Events vary in difficulty and are a great place to meet up with your player community.
    • The Space Dwarf Social Network will be accessible before the character selection screen so that the players can find out what their friends are doing and purchase premium items before they choose what characters to play.

So all you guys and gals better buckle up, because this war won't fight itself you know, and fine healthy specimens such as yourselves are ideal to fill the vacancies in the Space Dwarves Bionic Marine Command – but whether you can cut the cheese still remains to be seen, so grab your gear and fall in line marine!

Thank you guys. The ships and space port models we bought from Enreque Barreto to use in our game eventhough they werent game ready. We have converted them since to be fully playable. We are currently fitting them all into the game engine. We just loved his 60's scifi style. Our ships will be multi-player btw.

Megatraveller was a bit of an influence for me too. Along with firefly, Jeramiah, diablo and ultima online. Join the site anyone from this community and I will add you to the contributors group so you can get the graphic novel, updates and other content early.

Thank you for your kind words.

    Thank you.
We are using zerano's multiplayer kit with our own custom work done. We have not even worked on the gui but we have made serveral levels and ingergrated many of our assets into the engine.

We do have most of the assets we need with only a few in production.
We are working like crazy to get it looking and performing great to make a good video for kickstarter.
For now we are almost done with chapter 1 of the graphic novel. its all written but the art pages are catching up.

I will keep everyone posted her and on our site.

    The interest is good! :)
I worked with these guys getting the preliminary idea off the ground and it's coming along very well indeed. If there's ever an ambitious project to watch on these forums it's this one.
