    UA 2008 Entry: Indie Riffs

    Team name: C2 Estudio

Team: Luis Carlos Correa, Camilo Gomez, Manfred Hamann, Sebastian Muñoz

    - Technology used: Particles.
    - Number of players: Single machine
    - Target distributable: Standalone
    - Website: www.c2estudio.com

Description: Guitar Hero style gameplay with user-made tracks and the keyboard as your guitar. The idea behind it is that independent bands can create their own songs to reach their fans in a different way.

I am really bad at guitar hero, but in your game I wasn't hitting any notes... Nothing happens and I was on. The "guitar" shook but that was it, I was expecting particle effects like in the screenshot. Do you have to hit all the notes to get points. I think if there are 3 notes and you only hit two of them you should still get points. I thought it was very hard to play. There should be different levels of difficulty. The artwork is great!

Is it really working? I've tried to play but it doesn't get any button right, I've used the A S D F of the keyboard but even when I pressed the key on the button, I haven't scored any points.

    TXS!

EDIT: Ok, I've got it, but pressing space bar to all of the notes it's kind of bizarre!

Hi!, the idea is to make the gameplay similar to guitar hero, where pressing the spacebar is like strumming the strings of the guitar; without it it will be just a dance dance revolution.

    regards!

    Sebastian Muñoz

    EDIT:
You get the fire when you hit the notes without making mistakes.
I dont remember well but its like 40 notes in a row.

Sweet game man. ;) My suggestions are to change the default controls to 1,2,3,4 for frets and Return for strum, or something similar. It's neigh impossible to play a Guitar Hero game with one hand. Also, It was really difficult to enter my name for High Scores. The arrow keys would scroll through the letters, sure, but they would skip certain letters (conveniently the ones in my initials)

Hiya, the controls are fully configurable using Unity's Input manager, you can also use a guitar hero control for the game, as long as you have the drivers installed.

    Thanks for the feedback!

I know, I did change the controls and had a good time with it. I'm just saying that those should be the default controls. Keep up the good work.

Very well done and very polished, but I really suggest an easier teaser / starting level.
