A 4-Pane View of the 3D world.

    It would be nice to have a four-, or at least three-panel view of the 3D world while editing - arranged the way the panels look in Max or Maya. That way, we could manipulate things in two or three isometric views, while observing the compositional results in another.

    Of course, the interface is pretty customizable. Maybe this is something I could do myself? Admittedly, I am still figuring the UnityEditor out.

    You can use Split horizontal and split vertical. Then change the pane type of the view.

    We will add a 4 split view to the layout defaults in beta 7.

    Yeah, I think that being able to quickly toggle between a 1-panel and 4-panel view will be very helpful. Putting icons for that in the toolbar will be a great help.

    BTW, you mention beta 7, is there a beta 6 already? I'm still using beta 5.

    Beta 6 will be out this week. It is only a small bugfix release.
