Unity 3.51: still in beta with these bugs

    Well, they do say they just started this spring to use students (interns?) as software testers. This says a lot on where they put their ressources; on engineers. However it seems they decided to change a bit that philosophy and hire temporary ( == lower wages normally) personnel for actual bug hunting. Which in my opinion, is a good move.

    In general, bug-tracking, reporting and QA is a manual task which requires a lot of manpower and time. You need people comfortable with the software but not nescessarly engineers only. Some stuff you just have to grind through so you can give a polished version of a bug-report to the person who knows how to fix it, saving a lot of time to everyone.

    As for Umbra, the only real complaint I have is that you can only bake PVS on 1 scene which really defeats it's purpose of helping with big projects. Took 2 year to make it work (at all), I think we'll have to wait a bit more for the rest.
