This is our entry into the UA 2008 competition. This will be the 3rd tower defense made with Unity, as far as I know. I'm glad to see the genre is growing

Looks nice for sure. Too bad you don't have a playable demo already as it would give you some important feedback. Anyhow, good luck with the entry.

Wow cool... I really like that big ol rocket you got there! Ive never heard of tower defense type games until unity, and ive never played one until circuit defenders from Seon... This is deffinatly intresting to me!
Here is another tease. If you want to change the camera angle in this game, you can!

WidgetTD can be played entirely using a mouse and also alternative keyboard control are described at the end of this post. After playing, please let Mike (the author of this thread) and I know what you think! Since my role in the development is mostly technical, writing scripts and such, please post any bugs that you find so that I can try to fix them. Also, since we are getting ready to submit a beta version to the UA 2008 contest, your comments and suggestions are very valuable!

Turret, ice, turret, turret, poison, fire, ice, then anything you want provided you get a few silos for the bugs. = )
An update to WidgetTD is now available. The biggest change is that the enemies are better at avoiding each other and are aware of the sides of the path.
http://www.grayboxgames.com/new/wtd.html
Changes since last version:
- the ice tower can now shoot long range in FPS mode (an enemy must be targeted in the aimer).
- improved enemy avoidance ai.
- fixed a bug causing enemies to wander off on occasion, never reaching the end of the maze.
- speeded up some sorting routines.
- selection buttons fade in with the correct shade when selecting the grid
I hope no new bugs cropped up from the changes. Please let us know of any bugs, comments or suggestions for the UA 2008!
Thank you!

Great as expected!
But for some reason there's no way to pass the level with the green ufos (the 4th i think?)...
Is it possible or this is a way to end the demo (the same way the other difficulty levels are impossible)?
Maybe it needs some balancing or should i worry about my TD skills so much?
That's my only question...![]()
Yes there is! I just went through the game.
You have to make sure you've got enough money to upgrade a turret before the lvl. 4. Then you can use it in fps mode to finish them off. You should only build turrets in the first 4 levels.
Good luck
Yeah very good game, last level was pretty intense, those max level turrets really make it pretty easy, on normal mode anyway, good all in all, very good too look at love the first person long range, had a blast! look forward to playing later versions!
