I understand- working about 26.5 hours/day at the moment, just trying to keep up with "ProBuilder", uhg.

Paid Beta? I'd be happy to pay for use of this, if it's not too "hacked together" at the moment- I know how my early-stage projects can be, lol.

    Good luck with finding time!

    Hi,

I'm still dead busy on some other work... but I'm thinking to plug this on shuriken, to not have to recode every aspects of the particles animation and so release it sooner, it would work in place of the shuriken renderer.

I'm ready to buy this for my game right now....

Question.. is there a way for the tail to go away after a while? I'm trying to make a ship warping/moving very fast effect and I want it to create a nice tail like this, but it would be great if the back of the mesh destroyed it self... sort of like that old snake game or something...

What do you mean by "destroying itself" ?
Here the trail is fading away because each particle has a defined life time, and this can be tweaked at will

This is exactly what I need for a project. Are you still planning to put it on the Asset Store, and if so, how soon?

Alesk: Darn, I need it by early February. Any chance I can get a WIP to build on? What issues are you still working on with it?

A little good news : I've changed my computer recently and have the crash too in the web player... So I'm not left in the mist to debug it !
Now I have to find what's the cause of it ;)

    Great :)

it was an easy one : in some cases I assign a new vertex buffer with less vertices than the previous, when less particles are rendered, and they somehow changed how it's handled internally : the triangles count was higher than the new available vertices, so I simply had to add a mesh.clear() to fix it :)

Great work Alesk! These look fantastic. Not sure if it's been asked in the thread before, but do you think this system will be performant on mobile at all? :)

    Hi,

    I'm still dead busy :(
I'm not sure how it will work on mobile devices, the shader will certainly be less detailed, I'll have to do some tests. I could at least do this.

    Hi,

For those interested, I've run a little test on iOS yesterday... It was almost working, the shader needs some tweaking and I had a mysterious crash after some minutes...

    Hey all !

Here is the new version to test : http://www.alesk.fr/demo/smoke/beta/

The mesh rebuild pass is slower than the initial demo (still trying to understand why), but this version can manage multiple emitters and is not limited to 16000 particles. In fact the particle count is virtually unlimited... only your cpu power will define the limit ;)

This time I'm really near the submission to the assets store !

My first attempt has been rejected by the AssetStore team :(
But I've simply received a generic message with no clue on what is wrong in my package. I've asked for more details one week ago, no answer so far...
What should I do or who should I contact to get at least a lead on what was not right ?

The asset is very good. It's a pity they don't want it. I don't know... maybe you can try to add some fire before the smoke...

That sucks this looks like a great asset. Been wanting to try doing something similar to it when I have the time.

Have you tried re-submitting or contacting Caitlyn?

    Hi,

Before re-submiting anything, I would like to know what was wrong in the first place...
For now I've sent a message to Lucas Meijer only, to see if he can give me some clues ^_^
I didn't knew about Caitlyn, I'll contact her now...
