I know this thread is rather old but I thought I'd add this in hopes its helpful if someone is still looking for a helpful 2d sprite generator.

I've built a free web based sprite generation tool which might be helpful for some users that need to pull together individual 2d images into an optimized power of 2 sprite downloadable texture. There are a number of options (including a JSON export for scripting) but it should be helpful to pull animations together or to build any kind of sprite texture sheet that works with Unity.

I uploaded 25 png textures (512 *512) but nothing happened on download. Is it doing something in the background or did it just not work ?

Hope it works.Looks like a very handy tool.
    Cheers

Sorry I'm locking this as the original issues are no longer related problems so it just ends up being super confusing to people and out of context to what Unity can do with auto packing, automatic atlas generation in 2017 and so on...

Please DO post a new thread about your tool and responses though, thanks!
