    UPDATE :

I've started rigging him, I've been procrastinating on a few things (filling holes in mesh etc) but I'll eventually get it done. I added an idle state.

    UPDATE 2:

he's rigged + skinned. Time to move on to some fun animations.

Wow this guy looks so cool! Loving the feel of the model and the colours. Can't wait to see it animated and a test scene put up on this thread *wink wink* :p

In all seriousness though, this looks great. Can I ask what tools you used to make him?

Great looking model there, but the skin could use some work. Even a very green ork should have some color variation in the skin. He looks about 95% there. I would give him some color under his finger-nails, a little red and blue to his skin tone and lower the chroma in that green. Your topology looks fantastic, can we see a wireframe? Anyway congrats on a beautiful model.

That already looks really fantastic, I agree with bgivenb: I would add some other color tones (red comes to mind) to make him come even more to live. You can even throw some purple in there too (just keep it very toned down). Realistic skin, no matter on what kind of race, consists of a wide range of color tones.

thanks for the kind words guys.

@bgivenb :Good eye, thanks for the feedback! skin variation is definitely on my to-do list. Some people over at polycount mention the same thing a while ago. I decided to go ahead and make the low poly + shader before adding variation to see how much would be need. I should have the skin in a good state before rigging.

@DavidB : everything was done in zbrush, including armor etc. the fur was done with the new fibermesh feature. I was worried it wouldn't bake well, but topogun did an awesome job!

    thanks!

@Kyena :thanks for the feedback . I've already added a bunch of hue variation, but I don't think it was enough. The green overpowers any purple / yellow I added, especially when brought down to that size. I'm just debating doing it in photoshop or going back to zbrush and rebaking.

    here's the highpoly:

here's some more skin I painted (just a screenshot from zbrush so the light/color is blown out), this is pre fibermesh and she's missing eye lashes :) :

@ar0nax : thanks! I mentioned in the first post that I have a couple of holes to fill in the model. He'll be hole free by the time i rig him :) I appreciate the screenshot and feedback.

As others said, awesome work traden. But, could you show us the wireframe and tell us the polycount, please?
    Thanks.

    here you go :

I decided to stick to the dominance war 3 specs, I went a little nutzo with the face topo:

9500 tris overall. Going to maybe reduce it so that I can give him an axe and stay at around 9500

Man, awesome work, really. For being over 9.5k tris is one of the bests things i've ever sen, really. Keep doing things this way and you have a very good future out there.

Looks absolutely brilliant! It doesn't appear that the teeth are textured though? Unless mine just isn't loading the teeth for some weird reason

    well he's rigged + skinned :

    http://shaunlarkin.com/unity/orc/

Gave him a walk cycle. Need to fix the leg movement, there's a bit of skipping happening.

Some clipping with the cloth but im not worried about it. Time to move on to some fun animations!
