Ninja PVP - WIP

    Hi, I'm a flash developer who couldn't resist to unity then started creating a game with my brother since 4-5 months called Ninja PVP, It is a toon/anime styled mmo action game for now later will be rpg too. (Sorry for my english) :)

    Current Features:
    - Male and Female characters with more than 60 animations
    - 3 Battlegrounds
    - Multiplayer with account and stats stored in DB
    - More than 30 skills already built
    - Characters can sprint, jump, double jump, dive, swim, drown, die from high falls etc
    - Melee and long range skills
    - Pets/summons
    - Game mode: deathmatch, team deathmatch, gokart race

    Pending Features
    - Game mode: capture the flag, survival, gather scrolls, destroy fortress
    - Single player game modes: zombies (hell yeah), quests, dungeons
    - Shop
    - More weapons
    - More more more.. (I will add more details soon)

    Well as we want to make this game bigger and bigger then we need more:
    - Texture artist
    - 3D modelers
    - Maybe some help with coding as I'm programming all myself, but I'm not sure yet what exactly other ppl could do

    @titanty: Thanks, your style looks good too
    @Salim: The terrain is made by hand with unity terrain engine, I've not used any other plugin for it
    @ivanzu: Thanks well I'm trying to push the graphics even better while being able to run on slow computers
    @dennis_s2k: Thanks for the nice words :).. we love quality stuff too...

    The racing-gokart-mode... is it planned like a mini game IN the game itself?
    what if you put the gokarts in the game itself.. or perhaps different vehicles..

    I think about some fun offroad 'karts', perhaps tiny airships.. boats?
    When you are always bound to RUN from A to B it could be boring, even if there are many details to explore on your way.. (Look at Minecraft)

    Its planned to be in the game itself like you go talk with an NPC to start a race, but your idea sounds good would be fun to be able to explore with the vehicles but more work for 2 guys hehe, we are focusing on the classic modes first: capture the flag, team deathmatch etc, but we want to make it bigger like continents to explorer and make quests, dungeons etc, thats why we need help... a complete version featuring in game shop, some multiplayer game modes, character creation, accounts etc... will be launched next month

    I've got to say that (IMO) the bodies and the heads don't fit together that well. If you are going to use those very stylized square headed characters I think you should use more stylized bodies (and terrain) as well. Or alternatively add a bit more details to the head (maybe some spiky hair).

    This might be accentuated due to the fact we are always seeing the character from behind but the player looks like a little ninja body with a white cube stuck on top.

    Note that overall this projects looks awesome, something I might pay for one day, and I'm hoping the criticism is constructive!

    Well when we started (flash 10) we werent able to use too many polys so we decided to go with cube heads characters we are not 3d modeler experts just started to learn with this game hehe, so I'm agree with your comment about the characters, we will add stylized hairs maybe that will fix the problem... but later we will go with more detailed characters like this one made by my brother:


    Im not sure about the terrain comment in which way the terrain need more work?

    By the terrain comment I meant that it was more aligned with the body than the head. If you were to stick to simple cube based models, it *might* be nicer if the terrain was squarer as well. If you are going to add detail then ignore that :)

    The kart is really just a quick concept.. I will use it later as a kind of blueprint, but for now I am reworking it :Oops:

    Unity terrain you say?

    How did you manage to create terrain so great with unity's built in system? Everytime I try something with it, the terrain comes out looking horrible. And I can't seem to get heightmaps to work.

    Any tips for the budding terrain artist?

    My brother made it with fl studio, garritan personal orchestra and lot of plugins with japanese sounds :)

    In my humble opinion I actually like the cube heads, it makes it very stylized and noticeable. I wouldn't go for the chibi approach but just keep your own style. It reminds me a bit of minecraft in a way but still has it's own feel to it.

    Thanks for the nice words :), we are not going for the chibi approach for this game so we are going to stick with the cube heads, but we will probably add more stylized hair styles.

    Keep it up man, its really looking good and really coming along. I would have to agree with most people that the cube heads is MUCH cooler and more stylized. The other style is meh
