    The Mountain Forest Pack has been accepted and is now on the Asset Store!

    $StoreScreen.png

    Buy here:
    Mountain Forest Pack

    What it comes with:
    * 14 mountain trees (all varying in height, fullness, and shape)
    * 2 bare pine trees
    * 2 mountain bushes
    * 1 tree log
    * 2 grass textures
    * 2 snowy grass textures
    * Snow pine leaf texture variant
    * Snow pine bark texture variant
    * The demo scene shown (like always)
    * FAQ Guide

    All 19 trees use the Unity Tree Creator so you can customize the trees however the buyer wishes. With this pack you'll have a huge variety to make a great looking forest without being repetitive. Trees look full and lush yet have a tris count of 500 to 2000 so you get excellent frame rate while having very detailed forests.

    All snow variation textures can be used on all other trees so you're basically getting a forest pack of green pine trees and snow pine trees in the same pack for $25.

    Apparently there have errors reported uploading assets to the Asset Store the last couple of days, the mountain forest pack was one of them and has to be resubmitted. I'll post here when it has been accepted.

    While you're waiting enjoy the demo video. I'm working on a snow demo to show the usefulness of the snow variation texture. The demo video will be posted later today.

    @Prodigious Studios Good to hear thanks.

    Anyone have any feedback on the videos? Things to add for a future update? Things you'd like to see?

    imo, you work is good quality.
    My only thoughts are sometimes it would be neat to see non-standard trees.
    Giant redwoods.
    Or new, unique trees that look realistic but don't necessarily mimic your average tree. But, I understand that most people probably want "regular" trees :)

    @jc_lvngstn Thanks, yes non-standard trees would be nice, but that'd be perfect for a separate pack. Something like a fantasy tree pack, which I do plan on doing somewhat soon. I will keep your suggestions in mind though.

    I used Skyrim as my inspiration for making these trees, but I couldn't do exactly as they did because their trees tris counts are much higher than 500 to 2000.

    If people are interested I can make some higher tris count trees for this pack in a future update that will look more like Skyrim. I plan on adding more trees the mountain forest pack anyways so I just need suggestions.

    @Shadow93 Sorry, but there is no web player. You can see the pack in the demo from all angles, both snowy and none snowy. We don't use web players anymore because it's too easy for people to hack the assets , there are others besides us who do this. The video is no different than a webplayer demo.

    We didn't use any custom shaders, everything you see in the demo was used with Unity's standard shaders.

    Hi,

    Im about to buy this, but you havent answered this since 6 days, would be nice to get a response (maybe you are on holiday, if so sorry)

    Can you say something about the materials?
    Are all the trees sharing the same? whats the Draw calls like?
    Im using UniStorm, and I'd like to reduce my draws quite considerably...
    I still a lot of fixes to do, but was wondering about swapping out my current trees, (from lots of different sources, therefore different materials) with one pack... this looks awesome (my game is set in Norway).

    Which reminds me, I guess you know the answer to this, but if I replace a tree in the Terrain Tree slot, with a new one, does it still "plant" a tree where an old one was, or do I have to go and position all my trees again?

    cheers

    MArk

    PS: There is one quite neg review on the Asset page, where he says that it deleted his terrain? Anything in this, or user error?

    Hey Mark,

    Sorry didn't catch the forum post.

    Yes, all trees share the same material making them run smoother and faster. You can simply change the trees in the terrain tree inspector with the Mountain Forest Pack trees and Unity will update them accordingly. You will not have to repaint them.

    I'm not sure what that review was about. That individual seemed to be the only one with that problem. If you're worried make a backup of your project before importing (which is recommended for all projects when importing any new content).

    Thanks for your interest in our pack.
