Thanks! Unfortunately, this is only a weekend and evenings project, so it will take some time before there is any fantastic progress. (Q_Q)

He uses Photoshop or illustrator not 100% sure but gimp and Photoshop are almost the same.Just when making tileable texture be careful and test them in side Photoshop.

If you look at the start of this thread Little Angel put some pictures of creating hand painted textures, these same pictures are in the thread The Creation Of Adam(linked in my signiture) :D hope it helped.

@Little Angel, that looks amazingly fun, anychance of a webplayer? it looks similar to StarWars: Rouge squadren.

Micah: What's so special about these custom brushes? Been doing a fair bit of hand-painted textures recently and anything that helps is a bonus :p

@Farfarer: Theirs nothing that special about my custom brushes :p , I been playing with diffrent opacity Dots within a normal Hard round brush .etc. to get more texture while I'm painting. It's really fun and you gain a good understanding of what a brush can do when you make them. I really suggest that you and others try making some brushes!

Also special brushes aren't really needed to creat hand painted textures (everything can be done with just a round brush), they only help in speeding up the process. They also creat details that you just wouldn't think of making.

    Edit:

Ok so I just spent some time learning to paint in Gimp and get used to its tools etc. (Not gonna lie, Not a FAN of it) Glad I made the leep to save and purchase photoshop when I started :p

But only half an hour today and about an hour and a half yesterday and I think I got it in the bag! (another aplication I can add to the list) Here's a 5 min Tilable texture I made to see If I could do it in gimp = result. (S*** looking result)

But only because it's a test... Also posting it because someone might be able to use it (Not that I would)

Their is a seam because I didn't finish it and thats because, thats Why I'm makining a tut.

The end result will look something like this: (but a diffrent hue)

Yeah, I've got a few brushes I made for doing hand-painted stuff. Brushes to make it look like nice big flat square-edged brush.

Always on the lookout for more is all :p

Farfarer: I didn't think much about "brushes" in Photoshop until someone posted that tutorial about making techno textures and the artist had a palette of hundreds and hundreds of brushes... And they were useful.

It's a nice vid but the constant zoom in and track camera effect grows really irritating after a bit. Would be nice to have just tracking or even a blimp cam, or a bit of bonnet cam, some variety will make it really nice.

Dragonstar: You know you can link videos with the "film" button:

This way it's easy to see:

The movement on the animation is nice and smooth. Some sort of MoCap? Look into animation blending and weighting for the transitions, so they are not so snappy.

Anyone had good experience with animation blending?

    Looking here for a start:

Can you please make a small webplayer demo in which you shoot these rabbits and parts blow in every direction? You must do it!

Really cool model, and hilarious idea!

Couldnt wait for ShaderBox vegetation shader anymore, so i just poped out Cryengine and tested some modeled plants. Also instead of doing all unique sculpted-modeled rocks i will rather go with procedural rocks, which are far less time consuming.

Screen of our next game (a quick quirky and STRANGE) take on final fight - laced with quirky british humour:

It maybe 2.5D, however we're doing fun things with shaders and 2D style SSAO. Not sure if it will stay or go yet, but that's what we like to do, take something you're used to and turn it on it's head.

I really like the character style, it's a lot different to the direction most 2.5D / 2D games take. I look forward to seeing what other characters you have going on :)

osmant : Neat style. Very clean :D (Guessing you're the same osman from Polycount?)

hippocoder : Digging the 2D SSAO effects, I'd keep it if you can. Gives a nice tangible depth to the scene.

RPGKing : I've seen a few of these "pixel" style games with proper lighting in them. Love how that style looks too :D
