    Gone Wishing

A remarkable interactive storybook experience about a tiny genie with a giant secret. Discover the hidden world of wish-craft. Meet genies, leprechauns, fairies, and the super secret Shooting Star Service.

Learn what really happens after you blow out the birthday candles and make a wish. Where do all those coins from the wishing well go?

Meet the Mimbles - a family of wish-granting legends who gave the world wonders like fire, suspenders and cotton candy. And meet their youngest son Jacob, a tiny genie who was born to continue the family tradition. Except that Jacob has a giant secret and an even bigger problem - he's the first genie ever who can't make a single wish come true.

Gone Wishing is a deliciously fun look into a never-before-seen world of magic and miracles, in which the tiny genie will have to figure out how to make magic without any magic abilities - before his terrible secret is out.

fantastic work - and a very nice idea.

I would totally buy this for my kids Ipad - if I had a child... or an Ipad :)

I'm a professional children book author&illustrator currently working on my own books/applications.
I can recognize people's talent in the blink of an eye.

I bought 'Gone wishing' right away and I have to say that you raised the bar to the upper level, the challenge (to create something as good as this app) is tough and that is exciting.
I will definitely recommend your app, "great work" to the team members.

ps : I would love to read some Development logs about your workflow in Unity3d. Is that available somewhere?

Can you describe how you developed the drawing section, where the bike is drawn by the user? Thanks!

    Wow fantastic work!!!! Congrats!!!

    Have Questions...
    How big was the team?
    How long of development?
    Where are you located?

Really excited to see how it sells.

P.S. Post the video on your intro thread here.

    Thanks everybody!
Some answers: There are three people in the development team, writer, illustrator, and me, programmer. We outsourced some additional programming to a "real" programmer :) i am a 3d artist by nature, not programmer and this was learning experience for me, that's why we needed a professional to do the drawing tool for us..
It took about 7 months from my first tests to completion, like i said, i had to learn everything as i went along..
I cant really tell much about the paint tool and how it works, im not the one that programmed it :)

@24pfilms: there is a link to the trailer in the first post, just link though, don't know how to attach a pretty picture to it :) We are located in Slovenia, btw..

There is an additional camera in the scene with a render texture attached to it (requires pro). That same texture is put as the background of the extra scene to preserve the drawing content (like a self-feeding loop). When the user touches the canvas a brush object (an alpha blended circle) is displayed at the touched location - because of the way the extra camera/render texture is set up this gets overlayed on top of the existing image and added (painted) into the texture.

The texture is simultaneously used in the main scene with the starry background where the user sees the final result. It's displayed as additive so that black gets transparent and white is white. That way I can just use a white brush to draw and black brush to erase stuff.

It's not the most representative screenshot of the setup, because it's taken on my normal (non pro) version of Unity on the laptop, but I hope it gets the message across. Otherwise ask away (if I'll remember to return with an answer - I'm new here :)).

    Just found this thread.
    Looks great.
Similar to something I had planned for my niece and nephews.
